COMMAND LINE SWITCHES FOR EPSA/EPSA2/EPIAHD/EPIACD/EPCD ADAPTERS ----------------------------------------------------------- A) i) FOR EPSA/EPIAHD/EPSA2/EPIACD ADAPTERS /Rx x=0 nibble fast x=1 nibble normal x=2 nibble slow x=3 uni fast x=4 uni normal x=5 uni slow x=6 toshiba fast x=7 toshiba slow x=8 PS/2 fast. x=9 PS/2 slow x=10 EPP Normal x=11 EPP Fast ii) FOR EPCD ADAPTERS /Rx x=0 Nibble Fast x=1 Nibble Normal x=2 Nibble Slow x=3 PS/2 Fast x=4 PS/2 Normal x=5 PS/2 Slow x=8 Dual Fast. x=9 Dual Normal x=10 EPP ---------------------------- B) i) FOR EPSA/EPIAHD/EPSA2/EPIACD ADAPTERS /Wx x=0 Write Fast x=1 Write Normal x=2 Write Slow x=3 EPP Normal x=4 EPP Fast ii) FOR EPCD ADAPTERS /Wx x=0 Write Fast x=1 Write Normal x=2 Write Slow x=3 EPP C) APPLICABLE FOR EPSA/EPSA2 only. '/mxy' - where x is from 0 to 7 and y is the access mode for device x. The device specified for the host adapter determined previously by '/hx' option (If '/hx' is not given host adapter zero is assumed) will be put in handshake mode. If this option is not given the default mode for different devices is determined by ASPI Manager. The value of y is from 0 to 3 which is as follows: Read Write Mode value (y) ---- ----- -------------- Blind Blind 0 Blind Handshake 1 Handshake Blind 2 Handshake Handshake 3 D) APPLICABLE FOR EPSA/EPSA2/EPIAHD ONLY '/B' - to install int13 handler. Useful to check harddisk performance through CORETEST/ATDISK. E) APPLICABLE FOR EPSA/EPSA2/EPIAHD ONLY '/I'- To change the polarity of the interrupt generated by shuttle for some parallel ports.(AURELEC'S OLD HCGAP CARD). This is applicable only EPSA boards. In the EPIA boards, this mode is automatically is detected. F) APPLICABLE FOR EPSA/EPSA2/EPIAHD/EPIACD ONLY. '/Zx' - The default EPP wait state programmed by the ASPI Manager is 2. To modify the wait state, give appropriate wait state value in '/Zx'. For example, if you wish to program the EPP shuttle to zero wait, you would give '/Z0'. The value of x ranges from 0 to 9. G) APPLICABLE FOR EPIAHD ONLY. '/AXX' - Auto Power down where xx is the value in minutes. Used only in IDESYQ drives. H) '/de' - In some systems, checking whether epp is present or not was crashing the system. Now this can be skipped by giving '/de' switch which disables the epp automatic detection during the driver initialization process. I) '/da' - disables auto-detection. If no command line options are provided, the driver defaults to 'Nibble Slow' and 'Write Slow' modes. J) '/dp' - disable PS/2 DMA arbitration. Switch valid from EPSA/EPIA Ver 4.12 onwards. EPCDW.SYS/EPCDW.EXE/EPCDO.SYS/EPCDO.EXE Ver 1.08 onwards. EPCDS.SYS/EPCDS.EXE Ver 1.07 onwards. K) '/fe' - force epp mode L) '/fp' - force ps/2 M) '/fb' - enables bi-directional capability in some EISA chipset machines. N) '/fev' - enables EPP initialization for VLSI 82C144A chipset. O) '/db' - disbles epp bios checking P) '/d' - outputs details debug sequences. Q) APPLICABLE FOR EPIAHD ONLY. '/C' - to support DAISY Chaining in EPIA adapters only from EPIA Version 4.05c onwards. EPIA.SYS ver 4.05c and above allows other shuttle adapters (like Shuttle EPSA, XIRCOM parallel ethernet, etc.) to be connected to EPIA adapter's parallel pass-through port and permits the user to access EPIA and the other shuttle concurrently. However, this requires that EPIA driver should be loaded as a TSR with '/c' switch (EPIA.EXE /C) after the non-shuttle driver is loaded. Note that loading EPIA before the other shuttle driver will not result in concurrent operation and will fail in the case of XIRCOM adapters or any other shuttle adapters which use IRQ. This version also operates in non-interrupt mode (ie when loaded without the '/c' switch) avoiding any possible IRQ clash with adapters which use IRQs 7/5 (like SOUND BLASTER ). Note that to enable DAISY CHAINING pin no. 100 in EPIA shuttle adapter should be open. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- COMMAND LINE SWITCHES FOR ASPIHDRM.SYS/ASPIHDRM.EXE --------------------------------------------------- '/RX' - where x is the number of removable partition. '/Xy' - Exclude the device(DO NOT SUPPORT) at SCSI ID y. '/S' - suppress the help message for removable devices after successfully initalising. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- COMMAND LINE SWITCHES FOR SHTLMAN.EXE ------------------------------------- '/NOEPP' - Disables EPP detection. Updates the drivers with '/de' command line switch. '/OS2' - Creates DDP files for OS/2 in the current directory. '/D' - Records the sequence of events when SHTLMAN runs, to a file called SEQUE~~~.LOG. Note that this file is only for the assistance of the developer to isolate any extraneous conditions. '/BOTH' - Switch to run both Phase 1 and Phase 2 tests unconditionally. '/SMI' - Switch to skip machine initialisation. SHTLMAN updates the driver with '/ni' switch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
