Fujitsu offers a new 2.5inch disk drive series with storage capacity
of 816 to 1088 MB in a 12.5 mm(0.49 in.) height, low-profile package. This
has been achieved by adopting the industry's most-advanced technologies
that made areal density near 870 M bits/square inch possible-Magneto-Resistive
(MR) heads and PR4ML read channel technology.
M271x series features Intelligent Power Management, which requires only
1.90W for read/write mode, 0.79W for idle mode, 0.39W for standby mode,
0.24W for sleep mode and 0.7A for spin-up mode.
The M271x series provides very high performance coming from high-speed
media transfer rates of 6.77 MB/s and interface transfer rates up to 16.7
MB/s. Reliability is ensured by S.M.A.R.T.(Self-Mortoring Analysis and
Reporting Technology), which provides warning of imminent drive problems.
