VESA VBE/Core 2.0 is an extension of the VESA VBE 1.2 standard (VBE = Video BIOS Extension). S3 VBE/Core 2.0 is a TSR program, which installs a VESA VBE/Core 2.0 for S3 graphics cards with VESA VBE 1.2. S3VBE20 /? shows a help screen. S3 VBE/Core 2.0 needs a S3 graphics card (S3 928 or newer) with VESA VBE version 1.2 or higher and at least 1 MB video memory to run. The program doesn't check, if a S3 graphics card is present! S3 VBE/Core 2.0 was designed to work with S3 928 chipsets. It should work with newer S3 chipsets (Trio32, Trio64, Trio64V+, Vision 864/964, Vision 868/968, Virge, Virge/VX, ...), too. In linear frame buffer modes the frame buffer will be located at 48MB. S3 VBE/Core 2.0 supports the following low resolution modes: 320x200x256, 320x240x256 and 320x400x256. This release doesn't support graphics cards with more than 4 MB video memory. There is no VBE/Core 2.0 support for text modes, 4 bits/pixel modes and VBE mode 81FFh in this version, too.
