NEC MONOGRAPH UTILITIES AND DIAGNOSTICS Version 1.20 This is the Utilities and Diagnostics diskette for the MonoGraph. It is one of three diskettes provided with your MonoGraph System. On this disk, you will find the following files: MGDIAG.EXE - This program allows you to determine if your MonoGraph graphics controller is operating correctly. You will find the diagnostic test operating instructions in the chapter entitled "Troubleshooting and Diagnostic Testing" of your MonoGraph System User's Manual and Installation Instructions. ERRORS.TXT - This text file lists the MGDIAG.EXE error codes and their meanings. MODEKEY.EXE - This program is a memory-resident utility that allows you to alternate between the two MonoGraph display modes, high resolution 1024 x 1024 and CGA emulator mode. To install the utility, type MGKEY at the DOS prompt, followed by the 'Enter' or 'Return' key. To use the utility, press the 'Alt' and 'Esc' keys simultaneously. This key sequence enables you to toggle between the two display modes. ID.EXE - This utility returns the firmware version number and several hardware configuration parameters for your MonoGraph graphics controller. CURSOR.EXE - On some IBM PC compatible systems, the ROM BIOS implementation conflicts with the MonoGraph during the initial boot sequence. The result is either a static cursor or a missing cursor at the DOS prompt. The CURSOR.EXE utility can be used to restore a blinking cursor each time your system is booted. Type INSTALL.BAT to install this utility. INSTALL.BAT - This utility copies the CURSOR.EXE utility to your boot disk and updates your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. CURSOR.DAT - This file is used by CURSOR.BAT to install the CURSOR.EXE utility. BATUTIL.EXE - This program is used by CURSOR.BAT to install the CURSOR.EXE utility.
