                          CHARLOAD


CHARLOAD is a utility program to load a user provided character
generator. CHARLOAD loads a new font file.

CHARLOAD  supports the following font sizes:  16x8, 14x8, 8x8; 

SYNTAX: CHARLOAD filename
	
Loads the specified font file to the active character set.

Usage: CHARLOAD filespec [/switch]
       where filespec is a font file.
 Valid switches are:
    S0 to load lower character set
    S1 to load upper character set
     D to disable resident font
     E to enable resident font
 Alternate select on EGA/VGA:
       CHARLOAD file1 file2
       to load a 512 character set.

EXAMPLES

CHARLOAD filename.ext /S0

Loads the font file named <filename.ext> to the first character
set.

CHARLOAD filename /S1

Loads the file named filename to the second character set.

COMMENTS
If you give the CHARLOAD command when the display is in
graphics mode, the new character set becomes active when you
switch back to character mode.


			THE CHARLOAD & COLOR146 

In order for DU146B, DU151B or VE17C to comply with highest ergonomic
requirements, please complete following operations:

1. If You use DU146B or VE17C color monitor, insert following commands
in Your AUTOEXEC.BAT -file:

	CHARLOAD \DOS\VGAF16X9.FNT
	COLOR146

2. If You use DU151B monochrome monitor, insert following command
in Your AUTOEXEC.BAT -file:

	CHARLOAD \DOS\VGAF16X9.FNT

Now You will have full usage of all ergonomic enhancements of
every time You turn Your workstation on.
