Features: The ADI 4.2 driver is used for AutoCAD Release 10/11/12, AutoShade. 2.0/2.1 and 3D Studio 1.0/2.0. 32 BITS DISPLAY FOR NO REGEN\OPERTION. Bird_Eye and Edge-Pan features for convenient zooms and pans. Hardware Requirements: * 286 or better CPU. * GraphicsENGINE board. * 80X87. Restriction: * The ADI4.2 driver is protected mode only. * Resolutions which require 2MB are not supported at this time. * Rendering problems occure in 15,16 and 24 bit resolutions. * In 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions,text does not display in the bottom of the window after doing a DIR from a flipscreen. * With the side menu disabled, the S3 logo may appear in unexpected places. Copy driver (RCP_S3.EXP) to a convenient location. The file INSTALL.EXE can be used to copy the driver by first logging onto the desired drive and directory then typing A:\> install Then select INSTALL's \Autodesk ADI4.2 (Protected Mode) \ menu, press ENTER key and complete the installation. INSTALL will copy the appropriate files to your default directory. 2. Set the environment variable ACADDRV=\to point to the Aquila sub-directoryand load files into Aquila sub-directory as well. Example: ACAD 12 SET ACADDRV= C:\ACAD\Aquila\;C:\ACAD\DRV\ ACAD 11 SET DSPADI = C:\ACAD\Aquila\RCP_S3\ SET RCPADI = %DSPADI% SET RDPADI = %DSPADI% If desired, this command can be placed in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. 3a. Set Acad device to Aquila 4.2\in the AutoCAD display device configuration menu for AutoCAD 12. b. Set Acad device to ADIP386 V4.0/4.1 Display\in the AutoCAD display configuration menu for AutoCAD 10 and 11. 4. Select the desired mode from the list of available modes in the ACAD configuration menu. 5. Configure options such as dual screen operation (if your system has the capability), menu colors, Graphics Flip Screen feature, mouse, printer and plotter as needed. The GFS option enables the AutoCAD text screen to be displayed in the center of the graphics screen. This will eliminate the mode switching delay which are found in most multi frequency monitors. Do not use this option if a TSR program is being used. DRIVER INSTALLATION FOR USE WITH AUTOSHADE 2.X: 1. Delete \shade2\shade.cfg\ 2. Set environment variables in \autoexec.bat : as we did in ADI4.1 3. Reboot machine. 4. Run shade /R\from \shade2\directory. 5. Select pointing device. 6. Select P386 Autodesk Device Interface display driver . 7. Choose a mode NOT marked as Disabled . 8. Answer YES\3 (three) times- a. YES, display and AutoShade rendering devices share a single screen. b. YES, display and RenderMan rendering devices share a single screen. c. YES, FLIP SCREEN does require a redraw. 9. Select a rendering hardcopy device. 10. Quit, and the configuration will be saved. DRIVER FOR 3D STUDIO 2.0 CONFIGURATION, 1. Go to \3ds \sub-directory, and edit the file 3DS.SET . 2. Change the line which started with \DEFAULT-DISPLAY = VGA320X200\ to DEFAULT-DISPLAY = RCP_S3\and MATERIAL-DISPLAY = VGA320X200\. to MATERIAL-DISPLAY = RCP_S3 . 3. Change MAIN-DISPLAY = \to MAIN-DISPLAY = RCP_S3 . Delete any leading semicolon (;) that may be present. 4. Delete the file 3DADI.CFG\if present. 5. Run 3DS\and select ADI main Display . 6. At ADI MEDIT\select a 256 colors resolution. 7. Answer rest question of the screen. (Detail in the readme.txt)
