Wearnes CD-ROM Installation Help File ===================================== 1.1 INSTALLATION PATHNAME ----------------------------- The user has to type in the full installation path of the CD-ROM Device Driver, CDD.SYS and others supporting files. The default installation path setting is C:\CDD. The user can change the default path to any path for installation. (Default: C:\CDD) 1.2 MSCDEX.EXE CD-ROM EXTENSION ----------------------------------- For DOS Version 6's user, MSCDEX.EXE Version 2.22 already provided in the DOS directory. The program will copy the MSCDEX.EXE from the C:\DOS sub-directory to the C:\CDD [Assumming default directory: C:\CDD]. The MSCDEX.EXE included in the disk is Version 2.21. (Default: C:\CDD) 1.2 PORT ADDRESS OF THE CD-ROM'S INTERFACE CARD --------------------------------------------------- The user can specify the port address for the interface card. The address selected has to be same is the jumper setting(JP8) on the CDC-005/6 interface card. If the user is using a sound card instead of the CDC-005/6, the CD-ROM address setting for the sound card driver has to be the same as the selected one. The port address available are 300, 320, 330, 340 and 360. (Default: 320) 1.3 DATA TRANSFER MODE -------------------------- The type of data transfer mode can be specified during installation. The several mode available are Programmed I/O, DMA Channel 0,1,2,3,5, 6,7. The data transfer mode selected has to be same as the jumpers(JP5 & JP6) on the interface card, CDC-005/6. For Programmed I/O, no jumper setting is needed. (Default: Programmed I/O) 1.4 INTERRUPT SETTING ------------------------- The interrupt setting can be selected in the installation menu. The interrupt selection has to match the jumper setting at JP7 on the interface card, CDC-005/6. The interrupt available are none, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 & 11. For None, no jumper setting is needed. (Default: None) 1.5 VERBOSE MODE FOR THE CDD.SYS DRIVER ------------------------------------------- This verbose mode can be turn on and off. Turning on the mode will display information about the installation. (Default: OFF) 1.6 CD-ROM DRIVE LETTER --------------------------- A nearest unused drive letter will be used as the CD-ROM drive letter.
