MacCD package (Release 3.5) Overview The package you downloaded contains three versions of the program. The first one runs under DOS and is a shareware. The second runs under Windows and is a demonstration version. The third is the 32-bit version for Windows 95. This combination allows you to fully test the engine (common to all versions) and the graphical interface (with a copy function limited to 100 KB per file). Windows 95 Use the 32 bits version under Windows 95. Windows NT A version is in preparation. Shareware A shareware program is not free, and is not a public domain software. The shareware concept intends to let you try freely the software to see whether it can be useful for you. After this initial period of say 30 days, you should destroy the copies or register (see below). Demo version The Windows version is not shareware. The software is fully functionnal, excepted the copy function. If you try to copy a file of more than 100 KB, the file will be truncated. With a text file, you will still be able to view the content of the file. With some binary formats like Word or Excel (to name a few) you won't be able to open the file. If you want to test the feasability of accessing images on a Macintosh CD-ROM, use the DOS version. Installation From the Program Manager, choose the File menu and the Execute item. Type 'A:install' to install from the A: floppy drive. Choose the target drive, the target directory and the name of the Program Manager group, or accept the default options. Launch the installation. Installation problems If you encounter problems in the installation, just copy every file in the destination directory (defaults to c:\mac). No file is protected, nor compressed. No entry should be done in any system file. Caution : CTL3DV2.DLL must be in the WIN/SYSTEM directory and ***NOT*** in the normal target directory.
