PLAYCD.EXE PROGRAM Playcd.exe program is a DOS program that allows you to play CD-Audio discs. (You can play CD-Audio discs from the front buttons of the CDS-545i or you can use the Media Player Utility provided with Windows 3.1 or higher.) Installation. Copy PLAYCD.EXE to your hard disk drive. To start PLAYCD.EXE program. Type its name at the DOS prompt: C:>playcd [CD-ROM drive letter] (example: playcd E:) If no drive is specified, PLAYCD will use the first CD-ROM drive in the DOS chain of drives. If there is more than one CD-ROM drive, the optional [drive] parameter specifies which of the CD-ROM drives will be used. In a few seconds the PLAYCD control screen will appear. Notice the double box around the button on the screen; it denotes the selected or highlighted button. Pressing the ENTER key activates the selected button. Press the ESCAPE key to exit PLAYCD. Use the ARROW keys or TAB key to move to another button. When the desired selection is highlighted, press the ENTER key to activate the selection. Within the display area are the DISC TIME, TK (track) TIME and TK NUMBER of the disc currently being played. The STATUS line indicates the current operational status and the TOTAL DISC TIME line indicates the total time of an inserted disc. Whenever a disc is inserted, track information appears to the right of the main screen indicating the total number of tracks on the disc. Audio tracks are in bright white text and non-playable data tracks are shown in dark blue text.
