Drivers Installation There are two ways of installing the application drivers. Automatic Installation (using AUTOINS program) 1. Insert the Drivers Disk into a floppy disk drive (ex. A:). 2. Switch to drive A: by typing : ex. A: 3. Run the automatic installation program AUTOINS by typing : AUTOINS 4. Then the Installation program menu will be displayed. Please follow the AUTOINS instruction. : NOTE Some application drivers can not be installed by AUTOINS program. In that case, please install the drivers following the Software Installation Manual. Also please refer to this README.DOC when you have any difficulties with AUTOINS program. Manual Installation (without using AUTOINS program) This README.DOC explains how to manually install each application driver, and it explains the procedures of the AUTOINS program for each driver. *Microsoft Windows (V3.0) NOTE. If you have previously installed the previous version of the EIZO TIGA Windows driver, please delete all the old driver files in the Windows System sub-directory (ex. c:\windows\system), otherwise the Windows SETUP will not copy the new driver files in your hard disk. Installing EIZO TIGA Windows (V3.0) Driver ... 1. If you have not previously installed Microsoft Windows on your computer, first install Windows and select your secondary display adapter (ex. VGA, EGA, CGA, or HGC) from the display adapter list. If you have already installed Windows, you can skip this step. 2. Make sure you are not running Windows, and run "Setup" program from your Windows directory (ex. c:\windows) by typing: SETUP 3. Highlight "Display" item from the Setup menu pressing or arrow key, then press . 4. Highlight "Other (Requires disk provided by a hardware manufacturer)" item from the display adapter list, then press . 5. When you are prompted for the driver disk, insert the EIZO TIGA Windows Driver disk into suitable floppy drive, then press . 6. Highlight one of the TIGA drivers matching your environment, then press . 7. When you have finished changing your settings, select "Complete Changes" option from the Setup menu to exit Setup. 8. Make sure "TIGACD.EXE" has been loaded before starting up Windows. Before running Windows (V3.0) ... Editing the SYSTEM.INI file When using Windows (V3.0) with an EIZO TMS340 board, it is necessary to exclude the interface address of the board. You can do this by adding the following line to the [386Enh] part of the SYSTEM.INI file (ex. c:\windows\system.ini) by using text editor. [386Enh] emmexclude=XXXX-YYYY Where XXXX is the start segment address and YYYY is the end segment address of the TMS340 board location. For example, if you install the EIZO TMS340 board at C8000h to C8FFFh, you should add the following line in the SYSTEM.INI file. ex. emmexclude=C800-C8FF *Microsoft Windows (V3.1) NOTE. 1. When you install EIZO Display Driver on Windows (V3.1), do not choose "Other..." from the display list but follow the instruction below. 2. Windows 3.1 has two kinds of TIGA driver (Small fonts and Large fonts) which require VGA as a secondary display adapter. However, they have some bugs. Please select the latest TIGA driver provided by EIZO from the display adapter list in Windows Setup. Installing TIGA Windows (V3.1) Driver ... 1. If you have not previously installed Microsoft Windows on your computer, first install Windows and select your secondary display adapter (ex. VGA, EGA, CGA or HGC) from the list. If you have already installed Windows, you can skip this step. 2. Insert the EIZO TIGA Windows Driver disk into a floppy drive (ex. A:), and switch to the drive by typing : ex. A: 3. To add the EIZO driver list into Windows Setup, copy a driver information file to your Windows system directory (ex. c:\windows\system) by typing : ex. COPY OEM31*.INF C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 4. Make sure you are not running Windows, and run "Setup" program from your Windows directory (ex. c:\windows) by typing : SETUP 5. Highlight "Display" on the Setup menu using the and arrow key, then press . 6. Highlight one of the TIGA drivers matching your environment, then press . 7. When you have finished changing your settings, select "Complete Changes" option from the Setup menu, then press . 8. When you are prompted for any disks, insert the disk into a floppy drive (ex. A:) and type : ex. A: 9. Make sure "TIGACD.EXE" has been loaded before starting up Windows. Before running Windows... For CGA/HGC emulation users : When using the Secondary CGA/HGC emulation driver in Windows, the VRAM on the graphics board is shared to display for both Windows and Non-Windows application and some conflicts are occurred on the VRAM. To avoid this problem, select the Exclusive and Background option of the PIF file using PIF Editor before running Non-Windows application such as MS-DOS Prompt. Otherwise, the Full-Screen of Non-Windows application will not be displayed correctly.
