Drivers Installation There are two ways of installing the application drivers. Automatic Installation (using AUTOINS program) 1. Insert the Drivers Disk into a floppy disk drive (ex. A:). 2. Switch to drive A: by typing : ex. A: 3. Run the automatic installation program AUTOINS by typing : AUTOINS 4. Then the Installation program menu will be displayed. Please follow the AUTOINS instruction. : NOTE Some application drivers can not be installed by AUTOINS program. In that case, please install the drivers following the Software Installation Manual. Also please refer to this README.DOC when you have any difficulties with AUTOINS program. Manual Installation (without using AUTOINS program) This README.DOC explains how to manually install each application driver, and it explains the procedures of the AUTOINS program for each driver. *BGI (Borland Graphics Interface) Introduction ... This BGI driver supports EIZO TMS340 Boards with TIGA V2.xx. The resolution and number of colours is dynamic and set externally. The BGI driver automatically adapts to the selected mode. Using BGI Driver ... The following files are in the \BGI directory on the EIZO TIGA V2.xx System Disk : TIGA.BGI : BGI driver for TIGA graphics interface BGIPRIMS.RLM : User extended primitives for TIGA BGI BGIDEMO.EXE : Demonstration program for BGI driver READMEGR.DOC : German documentation READMEUS.DOC : English documentation Before using the BGI Driver, copy the BGIPRIMS.RLM file into the C:\TIGA sub-directory by typing : ex. COPY A:\BGI\BGIPRIMS.RLM C:\TIGA NOTE. Refer to the READMEUS.DOC (or READMEGR.DOC) file for the detail. *Lotus 1-2-3 (R2.01) NOTE. 1. Before installing TIGA Lotus 1-2-3 (R2.01) Driver, ensure that all the 1-2-3 files are copied into the \123 sub-directory (ex. C:\123) on your hard disk. 2. Before installing TIGA Lotus 1-2-3 (R2.01) Driver, ensure that the EIZO TMS340 board is set to CGA/MDA Emulation. (Refer to CAUTION in WordPerfect (V5.1) and User's Manual for the Dip-switch setting.) Installing EIZO TIGA Lotus 1-2-3 Driver ... 1. Ensure that the Lotus 1-2-3 has been previously installed on your hard disk. 2. Copy all the files from the \123 sub-directory on the EIZO TIGA DTP Drivers Disk into the \123 sub-directory (ex. C:\123) on your hard disk. 3. Run 1-2-3 Driver Installation program (INSTALL.EXE) at the \123 sub-directory (ex. C:\123) , and take the following steps : 1) select "Advanced Option" from the MAIN MENU 2) select "Add New drivers to Library" from the Advanced Option 3) select "Modify current Driver Set" from the advanced Option 4) select "Text Display" 5) select either of the following two drivers : "EIZO TIGA 123 - Text Emu. (1024)" 1024 Horizontal dots display "EIZO TIGA 123 - Text Emu. (Free)" 1280 horizontal dots display NOTE. When using MD-B09 in 1664x1200 mode, select Text EMU.(Free) 6) select "Graph Display" 7) select "EIZO TIGA 123 - Separate" or "EIZO TIGA 123 - Popup" 4. Return to menu and save changes, then exit 1-2-3 Driver Installation program. Running Lotus 1-2-3 ... 1. Ensure that the TIGACD TSR program has been loaded. 2. Ensure that the TIGAEMU.RLM file has been copied from the \TIGA directory on the EIZO TIGA V2.xx System Disk into the C:\TIGA directory containing the TIGA System files. 3. Run Lotus 1-2-3 at the \123 sub-directory (ex. C:\123). *Lotus Symphony (R2.0) NOTE. 1. Before installing TIGA Lotus symphony (R2.0) Driver, ensure that all the Symphony files are copied into the \SYMPHONY sub-directory (ex. C:\SYMPHONY) on your hard disk. 2. Before installing TIGA Lotus Symphony (R2.0) Driver, ensure that the EIZO TMS340 Board is set to CGA/MDA Emulation. (Refer to CAUTION in WordPerfect (V5.1) and User's Manual for the Dip-switch setting.) Installing EIZO TIGA Lotus Symphony Driver ... 1. Ensure that the Lotus Symphony has been previously installed on your hard disk. 2. Copy all the files from the \SYMPHONY sub-directory on the EIZO TIGA DTP Drivers Disk into the \SYMPHONY sub-directory (ex. C:\SYMPHONY) on your hard disk. 3. Run Symphony Driver installation program (INSTALL.EXE) at the \SYMPHONY sub-directory (ex. C:\SYMPHONY), and take the following steps : 1) select "Advanced Option" from the MAIN MENU 2) select "Add New drivers to Library" from the advanced Option 3) select "Modify Current Driver Set" from the Advanced Option 4) select "Text Display" 5) select "EIZO TIGA Symphony - Text Emu. (Free)" ..1024/1280 H.dots 6) select "Graph Display" 7) select "EIZO TIGA Symphony - Combined" 4. Return to menu and save changes, then exit Symphony Driver Installation program. Running Lotus Symphony ... 1. Ensure that the TIGACD TSR program has been loaded. 2. Ensure that the TIGAEMU.RLM file has been copied from the \TIGA directory on the EIZO TIGA V2.xx System Disk into the C:\TIGA directory containing the TIGA System files. 3. Run Lotus Symphony at the \SYMPHONY sub-directory (ex. C:\SYMPHONY). *WordPerfect (V5.1) EIZO TIGA WordPerfect (V5.1) Driver ... EIZO TIGA WordPerfect (V5.1) driver consists of two text screen drivers and one graphics screen driver. By a combination of these drivers, you can select the following modes: Duplex mode (displays both text and graphics screen in one display at a same time) Full screen mode (switch to display text or graphics screen) CAUTION. TIGA Drivers for Lotus 1-2-3, Symphony and WordPerfect depend on the CGA/MDA/HGC emulation mode of EIZO TMS340 Boards. So ensure to check the Dip-switch on the Board to be correctly set to these emulations. Set the Dip-switch on the Board as follows : (Refer to the User's Manual.) 6 7 8 CGA emulation OFF ON ON MDA emulation ON OFF ON HGC emulation OFF OFF ON In case of setting the Dip-switch to other mode (No emulation or VGA mode), the text emulation can not be obtained and the TIGA device is only for graphics mode. Please use other video adapter (ex. VGA) for the text display. Installing EIZO TIGA WordPerfect (V5.1) Driver ... 1. Ensure that the WordPerfect (V5.1) has been previously installed on your hard disk. 2. Copy the following files from the \WP51 sub-directory on the EIZO TIGA DTP Drivers Disk into the directory containing the WordPerfect system files (ex. C:\WP51) by typing : ex. COPY A:\WP51\DUPLEX.VRS C:\WP51 3. Ensure that the TIGAEMU.RLM file has been copied from the \TIGA sub-directory on the EIZO TIGA V2.xx System Disk into the C:\TIGA sub-directory containing the TIGA System files. Running WordPerfect (V5.1) ... 1. Ensure that the TIGACD TSR program has been loaded. 2. Switch to the directory containing the WordPerfect system files and run WordPerfect by typing : WP 3. When WordPerfect runs, select "Setup: Display" and set Text/Graphics screen. Select the following device for both screens : EIZO TMS340 Board / TIGA Interface For the graphics screen, select the following mode : Duplex screen / Graphics For the text screen, select either of the following two modes : Duplex screen / Text Full screen / Text After this, WordPerfect will run in High-resolution mode. Using EIZO TIGA WordPerfect (V5.1) Driver ... Duplex screen / Text + Duplex screen / Graphics The screen is displayed as follows : The half left side of the screen : Text The half right side of the screen : PreView / Figure : edit screen graphics Full screen / Text + Duplex screen / Graphics The Full screen high-resolution text and the Full screen graphics are switched over. Other text driver + Duplex screen / Graphics The WordPerfect text screen is displayed on the monitor attached to other video adapter (ex. VGA) and the graphics screen is displayed on the monitor attached to the EIZO TMS340 board installed with TIGA in full screen. Please use this mode when TIGA device is no emulation or VGA mode. NOTE. 1. The text screen attribute conform to the emulation mode of TIGA device, and the graphics screen attribute conform to the text screen attribute. 2. When using MD-B09 in black/white mode, the high-intensity attribute can not be displayed in MDA/HGC mode. And in CGA mode, all the colour attributes are displayed in one colour, thus this driver can not be used. Please use the HiText Driver instead. (Refer to TIGA WordPerfect (V5.1) HiText Driver Installation.) 3. When using the screen mode of over 1280x1024 pixels, the number of columns will decrease since the full screen mode driver can not handle so much memory area. Installing EIZO TIGA WordPerfect (V5.1) HiText Driver ... WordPerfect (V5.1) HiText Driver is used to run WordPerfect in high resolution text mode which is provided by the EIZO HiText Utility. 1. Install WordPerfect on your hard disk as described in the WordPerfect documentation. 2. Copy the following file from the \WP51 sub-directory on the EIZO TIGA DTP Drivers Disk into the directory containing the WordPerfect system files (ex. C:\WP51) by typing : ex. COPY A:\WP51\HITEXT.VRS C:\WP51 3. Install HiText TSR program in your system by typing : HITEXT Running WordPerfect (V5.1) HiText ... 1. Switch to the directory containing the WordPerfect system files then run WordPerfect by typing : WP 2. Select "Setup: Display" at the WordPerfect Setup Menu, and choose the following device for Text Screen Type : EIZO TMS340 Board/HiText 3. Then choose : HiText After this, WordPerfect will run in high resolution text mode. NOTE. 1. Before running WordPerfect (V5.1), be sure to load HiText TSR program and then switch to the high resolution mode. 2. This HiText driver can be used by itself or with TIGA. 3. When using HiText driver with MD-B09, the text screen becomes 2 bit/pixel mode (4 shades). Therefore, all attributes in MDA/HGC emulation and 16 colours in CGA emulation are displayed in 4 shades. *Ventura Publisher (V2.0/V3.0) NOTE. 1. If you have already installed the EIZO TIGA V1.1 Ventura Driver, you must delete the "TEXTOUT.RLM" file in your directory containing the Ventura Publisher System files (ex. C:\VENTURA) before installing this driver. 2. The TIGA Ventura Large System Font driver is used only in 4bit/pixel mode. Installing EIZO TIGA Ventura Driver ... 1. Ensure that the Ventura Publisher has been previously installed on your hard disk. 2. Copy the following file from the root directory on the EIZO TIGA DTP Driver Disk into the directory containing the Ventura Publisher system files (ex. C:\VENTURA) by typing : ex. COPY A:\SDTIGA.VGA C:\VENTURA 3. Copy the following file from the root directory on the EIZO TIGA DTP Drivers Disk into the C:\TIGA sub-directory containing the TIGA System files by typing : COPY A:\TEXTOUT.RLM C:\TIGA 4. Modify the corresponding line on the VP.BAT (or VPPROF.BAT) file in the root directory on your hard disk. ex. VP.BAT file : DRVRMRGR VP %1 /S=SDFVGAH5.VGA /M=03 --> DRVRMRGR VP %1 /S=SDTIGA.VGA /M=03 ex. VPPROF.BAT file (Prof.Ext.) : DRVRMRGR VPPROF %1 /S=SDFVGAH5.VGA /M=03 --> DRVRMRGR VPPROF %1 /S=SDTIGA.VGA /M=03 If you prefer to use the Large System Font driver, change this file name to SDTIGALF.VGA. Running Ventura Publisher ... Type as follows at the root directory; containing the Ventura Publisher system files on your hard disk : VP (or when Prof.Ext has been installed, type "VPPROF" and press key.) Using WYSIWYG Fonts ... What is WYSIWYG Fonts Ventura (or GEM/3 Applications) is designed to provide What You See (on the screen) Is What You Get printed (WYSIWYG). This means that the computer display should match as closely as possible to what you see on the printed page. Ventura (or GEM/3) supplies the Screen Fonts only for the standard VGA (640 by 480) to achieve WYSIWYG, thus for the EIZO High-resolution System to achieve WYSIWYG, it is necessary to make the Screen Fonts by the Fontware which match to the EIZO High-resolution System. Using DDF files 1. Install FONTWARE on your hard disk. (Refer to the FONTWARE manual.) 2. Copy the DDF files from the \VP2DDF sub-directory on the EIZO DTP Drivers Disk into the \FONTWARE\DDF sub-directory on your hard disk. 3. Run FONTWARE on your hard disk. 4. Select the following item in Main Menu : View Control Panel 5. Press and select a suitable system from the EIZO items to match your display system. Then setup FONTWARE according to the instructions on the screen. NOTE. The Fonts produced by the FONTWARE are depending on the screen size and the resolution. If you run the application on the different system (Monitor and resolution) from which you have selected on making the Fonts, you can not get the correct screen displays. (Refer to the Ventura Manual for more details.) Advanced feature ... Virtual Screen Driver TIGA Ventura Publisher Driver provides you the Virtual Screen which expands the drawing area to be able to see the which drawing area by scrolling with mouse cursor. If you use Virtual screen, turn key OFF before you start Ventura Publisher. If you turn key ON when you start Ventura, Virtual Screen will be disabled. *GEM/3 (R3.1) Installing EIZO TIGA GEM/3 Driver ... NOTE. If you have already installed the EIZO TIGA V1.1 GEM/3 Driver, you must delete the "TEXTOUT.RLM" file in your directory containing the GEM/3 System files (ex. C:\GEMAPPS\GEMSYS) before installing this driver. 1. Ensure that the GEM/3 has been previously installed on your hard disk. 2. Delete the other screen drivers from the \GEMAPPS\GEMSYS sub-directory containing the GEM/3 system files by typing : ex. DEL C:\GEMAPPS\GEMSYS\SD*.VGA 3. Copy the following file from the root directory on the EIZO TIGA DTP Drivers Disk into the directory containing the GEM/3 system files by typing : ex. COPY A:\SDTIGAG3.VGA C:\GEMAPPS\GEMSYS 4. Copy the following file from the root directory on the EIZO TIGA DTP Drivers Disk into the C:\TIGA sub-directory containing the TIGA System files by typing : COPY A:\TEXTOUT.RLM C:\TIGA 5. Define your mouse in the Driver by typing : ex. A:\SETMP C:\GEMAPPS\GEMSYS\ SDTIGAG3.VGA 3 3 * * (*)This number depends on your mouse, refer to the GEM manual. 6. Make the following Batch File (ex. GEM.BAT) in the root directory : TIGACD C: CD \GEMAPPS\GEMSYS GEMVDI Running GEM/3 ... Type as follows at the root directory which contains the GEM/3 system files : GEM Using WYSIWYG Fonts ... Press and select a suitable system from the EIZO items to match your display system. Then setup FONTWARE according to the instructions on the screen. NOTE. The Fonts produced by the FONTWARE are depending on the screen size and the resolution. If you run the application on the different system (Monitor and resolution) from which you have selected on making the Fonts, you can not get the correct screen displays. (Refer to the GEM/3 Manual for more details.) *ARTLINE Ver.2 (R2.00) Installing EIZO TIGA ARTLILNE Ver.2 Driver ... 1. In case ARTLINE Ver.2 is not installed Insert the ARTLINE Setup/Application disk into drive A: and type : SETUP Setup ARTLINE Ver.2 according to the instructions on the screen. In case ARTLINE Ver.2 is already installed Run ALSETUP from the root directory of the drive containing the ARTLINE system files. The following procedures are common to both cases described above. 2. "Select Screen(s)" is displayed. Then select "Load Additional 4.0 Screen Driver Packs..." 3. Insert the EIZO TIGA DTP Drivers Disk into drive A: and press key. 4. Select the EIZO TIGA driver. 5. Continue with the SETUP until finished. NOTE. 1. The setup procedure copies TEXTOUT.RLM file into C:\TIGA sub-directory. You must install the EIZO TIGA System into C:\TIGA sub-directory by AUTOINS program before installing ARTLINE driver. Otherwise, the driver does not work correctly. 2. TIGA ARTLINE Ver.2 (R2.00) Driver does not support 8 bits/pixel mode. So please use the driver in 4 bits/pixel mode. *Microsoft Word (V5.0) Installing EIZO TIGA Microsoft Word (V5.0) Driver ... 1. Ensure that the Microsoft Word (V5.0) has been previously installed on your hard disk. 2. Copy the following file in the \WORD5 sub-directory on the EIZO TIGA DTP Drivers Disk into the directory containing the Microsoft Word system files (ex. C:\WORD5) as a different file name by typing : ex. COPY A\WORD5\TIGA.VID C:\WORD5\SCREEN.VID Running Microsoft Word (V5.0) ... 1. Ensure that the TIGACD TSR program has been loaded. 2. Switch to the directory containing the Microsoft Word system files (ex. C:\WORD5), then run Microsoft Word by typing : WORD 3. Select "Options" at the Microsoft Word COMMAND Menu. 4. Then choose the "display mode". 5. Press key and display a display mode list. 6. From the list, select "Graphics". After this, Microsoft Word will run in high resolution mode. Running Microsoft Word (V5.0) in High-resolution Text Mode ... When you load HiText TSR program before running Microsoft word, you can run Microsoft Word in high resolution text mode. NOTE. 1. When you use MS-Word in High-resolution Text mode with HiText, be sure to use the Microsoft Mouse Driver contained in the MS-Word application disk. 2. When you use HiText, the EIZO TMS340 board must be set in CGA or MDA (or HGC) emulation mode by setting the Dip-switch on the board. (Refer to the User's Manual of the board.)
