Number Nine MicroStation driver Documentation for Version 2.3.2 Date: 05/23/94 QUICK INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS 1) Type :INSTALL where is the drive where your driver diskette has been placed. 2) Run the MicroStation configuration program "USCONFIG" to select a graphics device and choose the "" option for the Right screen. MicroStation will then display a list of all available vendor supplied drivers. Select: "Number Nine ### - Right" where ## if the current version number of the driver. If the driver has been installed, the configuration program will begin executing and will allow you to select the operating mode and other driver configuration settings. When you exit from the configuration program, you will be placed back into the USCONFIG program to continue with the MicroStation configuration. IF YOU ARE CONFIGURING FOR DUAL SCREEN OPERATION, GO TO THE LABEL: "DUAL SCREEN OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS:" IF YOU ARE CONFIGURING FOR SINGLE SCREEN OPERATION, GO THE THE LABEL: "SINGLE SCREEN OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS:" DUAL SCREEN OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS: You will then be asked to select the driver for the Left screen. If you plan on running dual screens, once again select the "Vendor supplied driver" option. MicroStation will display a list of all available vendor supplied drivers. Select: "Number Nine ### - Left" where ## if the current version number of the driver. Once again, the configuration program will allow you to configure the driver, this time for the Left screen. Upon exiting from the configuration program, you will again be placed back in the USCONFIG program and allowed to continue with normal MicroStation configuration. CONTINUE TO STEP 3 OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS SINGLE SCREEN OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS: You will then be asked to select the driver for the Left screen. Since you are running in single screen mode, choose "no secondary driver." You will then be asked if you want to disable the swap screen function (which applies only to single screen operation.) Your driver will support swap screen in any mode at any color depth with any resolution. You should therefore NOT disable swap screen to get maximum functionality from your system. However, use of swap screen (pressing F9 when inside MicroStation) could use a considerable amount of ram and, if you do not have sufficient ram in your system to store an entire graphics screen, you should choose "Y" to disable the swap screen function. 3) Go to the Microstation root directiory and run MicroStation. 4) TO CHANGE DRIVER OPERATING MODES OR SETTINGS: It is NOT necessary to run USCONFIG to change the driver operating mode or settings after the driver has been selected using the above procedure. If desired, you may enter the "DRIVERS" subdirectory of MicroStation and type: dellcfg Use of this technique will allow you to avoid running USCONFIG to adjust your driver settings. However, if you desire to, you may run USCONFIG to change the mode and/or settings at any time. The following files are included with the Number Nine MicroStation driver README.DOC - This file DISK.ID - A short text file which identifies the disk to the install program. INSTALL.EXE - Installation executable file INSTALL.DAT - Data file which controls the operation of the install.exe program. N9US40.RED - All of files required by your driver in compressed format.
