Genoa AudioBlitz 3D Windows 95 Drivers (OPTi82C929 Version 4.00) 10/06/95 INSTALLATION PROCESS Please follow the following steps for a proper installation of the drivers for Windows 95. It is hereby assumed that you already have properly plugged in your Sound Card. We suggest that you should have a hard copy of this installation process(README.DOC). 1. Insert AudioBlitz 3D setup diskette #2 into floppy diskette drive A or B. 2. Proceed to the Control Panel folder and double-click on the SYSTEM icon. 3. Select the Device Manager tab to display the list of devices currently present on your system. 4. Check to see if you have previously installed the device. Usually, the device name starts with "OPTi .. Sound System." If no previous instance of the device existed, click on the Cancel button and proceed to STEP 6. 5. Double click on the device name to expand the list of sub-devices. Select "OPTi .. Sound System:...". Remove the set of devices plus this parent device. Check also to see if you have previously installed any Windows Sound System or Sound Blaster audio devices or their compatibles, and if so, please remove them from the list. Now, you must restart Windows 95 and proceed to STEP 6. (To restore this notepad after the computer is rebooted, double- click on "Help for Win 95 Drivers Installation" icon in Genoa AudioBlitz 3D group panel) 6. In Control Panel, double-click on the Add New Hardware icon. 7. At the next prompt, you will be asked to search for your new hardware, select NO and proceed to the next page. 8. A list of known devices will be displayed. Select "Other Devices" eventhough the name of the device is included in the list. This forces Windows 95 to perform a fresh install for your device. Click on Next to proceed. 9. Click on "Have Disk.." button and ignore the list containing manufacturer names. Click on Browse and choose CSETUP.INF in your Genoa AudioBlitz 3D setup diskette #2, then click on OK. 10. A list of devices available for installation will be displayed. Select the correct CD-ROM type combination that you desire. If you do not wish to use your Sound Card as a CD-ROM controller, just select the basic option which includes only the Sound/Game support. 11. Click on Next and Windows 95 will proceed to install the drivers and configure your device accordingly. Once your device has been successfully configured, you will be asked to restart your system. Select Yes if you want to install DOS real mode drviers(for DOS mode applications and games), otherwise, select No. 12.
