Installation notes for Canon BJ-Series Printer Driver for Freelance 3.01 ======================================================================== Driver Release 1.1 ------------------ Introduction ------------ The supported printers in the Canon BJ-Series are the BJ-10e, BJ-10ex, BJ-300 and BJ-330. The BJ-10ex, the BJ-300 and the BJ-330 can work in two modes, IBM Proprinter mode and Epson LQ mode. Dip switches must be set to select one of these modes and details of how to do this are in the User Manual. The BJ-10e can only operate in IBM Proprinter mode. There are two drivers on the disk. "Canon BJ-ELQ" is for the Epson LQ mode and "Canon BJ-Pro" is for the IBM Proprinter mode Installation ------------- 1. Insert this Disk into a drive and change to that drive E.g change to A: by typing A: then pressing return 2. Now enter the command NEWDRIVE where is the pathname of your Freelance Directory. For example if you installed Freelance on drive C: in the subdirectory FL then the command to install the driver would be NEWDRIVE C:\FL 3. After doing the above, change directory to your Freelance directory, and start Freelance with the FL command. 4. When the Freelance menu is displayed, select the Device and Font Setup option. Then select the Install-Devices option. 5. The two Canon drivers can then be selected in the same way as any other driver. The two choices are for the "Canon BJ-Pro" or "Canon BJ-ELQ". Choose the driver that corresponds to your printer mode ( Epson LQ or IBM Proprinter ). When the "Canon BJ Series" disk is requested, insert this disk in the appropriate drive. If any problems are encountered in the installation process, please consult your Freelance documentation. Use --- The Epson LQ driver can operate in three resolutions DRAFT ( 60 x 60 dpi ) STANDARD ( 180 x 180 dpi ) HIGH ( 360 x 180 dpi ) The IBM Proprinter driver can operate in three resolutions DRAFT ( 60 x 60 dpi ) STANDARD ( 180 x 180 dpi ) HIGH ( 360 x 360 dpi ) Run Freelance as usual. In "Charts and Drawings" or "Portfolio" : Select "Print" then "Options" then select the device ("Canon-BJ Pro" or "Canon BJ-ELQ") Alter the resolution by selecting "Print" then select "Options" then select "Resolution" then pick an appropriate resolution.
