This installation guide describes: o How to use EZStart to copy the FTP PC/TCP version 2.2 for DOS NDIS driver files from the SuperDisk to your PC. o How to prepare your PC's operating system so you can attach to the network. Note: This driver supports all SMC TokenCard EliteSeries ISA and Micro Channel Token-Ring adapters. COPYING THE DRIVER FILES From the Driver Installation screen, select 'Copy Files' to copy all the files used by this driver from the SuperDisk to the Destination Directory recommended by EZStart, or to a different directory that you specify. PREPARING YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM 1. Refer to Chapter 5 of the PC/TCP 2.2 Installation and Configuration Guide, entitled "Using an NDIS Driver with the Generic Kernel". 2. Copy the netbind files from the \NDIS subdirectory on FTP Disk A, labeled "Unsupported Network Software". 3. Using any text editor, add the following lines to your workstation's CONFIG.SYS file: device=c:\pctcp\protman.sys /i:c:\pctcp device=c:\pctcp\SMC8100.dos device=c:\pctcp\dis_pkt.gup Adjust the drive and path specifications to match your installation. 4. Use any text editor to make the PROTOCOL.FTP file in the \PCTCP subdirectory on your PC's hard drive to look as follows: [Protocol Manager] Drivername = protman$ [SMC8100_NIF] Drivername = SMC8100$ [PKTDRV] Drivername = pktdrv$ Bindings = SMC8100_nif Intvec = 0x60 Chainvec = 0x65 5. Rename the PROTOCOL.FTP file to PROTOCOL.INI. Refer to your DOS manual if you need assistance. 6. Proceed with the rest of the instructions in the PC/TCP 2.2 Installation and Configuration Guide.
