Select an individual adapter by double-clicking on it, or by highlighting it and either choosing "Select" or pressing the Enter key. The Ezstart Main screen will appear.. The EZStart default Destination Directory is A:\. Please make a backup copy of your SuperDisk before EZStart copies files to the SuperDisk to create an installation diskette. Note: If you change the Destination Directory, make sure that the DISK.ID file is in the root directory of the disk that you are using, and that the OEMSETNT.INF, SMCNCDET.DLL, SMC8000.DLL, SMC8000.HLP and SMC8000N.SYS files reside in the root directory or a subdirectory on the disk you are using. This file was one of the files copied by EZStart to the Destination Directory. When you find the directory where this file resides, you will have found the Destination Directory. 9. Select "OK". 10. When the next dialog box appears, select your SMC adapter type followed by "OK". 11. You will be presented with the Adapter Card Setup dialog box. NOTE: If you have previously selected the wrong adapter (step 10) Windows NT will fail to locate the adapter and you will be presented with default settings. 12. Choose the IRQ Level, Memory Base address, and I/O Base address. Then, click on OK. 13. When the next two dialog boxes appear, select "OK" for each one. 14. When prompted, select Restart Now. NOTE: When performing a Primary Installation (installing Windows NT for the first time), you will be prompted with a Network Adapter Card Detection dialog box. Select Do Not Detect to manually detect the EtherEZ and then select Continue. When installing a second adapter and prompted with the Network Adapter Card Detection dialog box, select Automatic Detection and then select Continue. In the unlikely event you encounter any device driver errors after Windows NT boots, check the event log in the Administrative Tools icon to see whether the error is related to your network adapter.
