Installing Iomega Software for your Notebook Zip® Drive

Before installing your Notebook Zip® drive for the first time, install the Iomega software onto your notebook. (See instructions below.) After the software installation is complete, you can install and use your Notebook Zip drive just like any other expansion bay device on your notebook.

Installing Iomega Software

IMPORTANT! Installing the Iomega software package installs the drivers needed on your notebook computer to correctly support the Notebook Zip® drive. If the necessary drivers are not installed, the Notebook Zip drive may not work correctly. Note that a CD-ROM drive is required to install the Iomega software.

  1. Make sure the CD-ROM drive is installed in your notebook. (If you need to switch devices, refer to the instructions that came with your notebook.)

  2. Start your notebook and wait for Windows to load.

  3. Insert the IomegaWare™ CD into the notebook’s CD-ROM drive.

  4. The Iomega setup program should start automatically. If it does not, follow these steps:

    1. Open My Computer, Windows Explorer, or File Manager.
    2. Double click the CD drive letter (usually D: or E:).
    3. Double click Install.exe.

  5. Follow the screen instructions to install the software. See IomegaWare™ Software for a description of the programs included on the IomegaWare CD.

  6. When the software installation is complete, click OK to exit the setup program, then remove the IomegaWare CD from the CD-ROM drive.

  7. Shut down your notebook and insert your Notebook Zip® drive. Refer to the Installation Guide (separate card) that came with your drive for instructions.
