SiS 900/7016 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter Installation for NDIS Driver (1) Introduction ---------------- These driver programs comply with Microsoft's NDIS v2.0.1 specification. (2) Windows for Workgroup 3.11 installation instructions ------------------------------------------------------- 1. In Windows for Workgroups, locate the Network section (the Network icon). Open the Network group and double-click Network Setup. 2. Click on the Networks... button in the Network Setup window. Choose Install Microsoft Windows Network. 3. To install the network NIC, click the Drivers... button. 4. In the Network Drivers window, click the Add adapter... button. 5. From the list of network NICs, select Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter and then click OK. 6. Network setup now requires the vendor-provided network driver diskette. Insert the SiS LAN Driver diskette in drive A: and type the following path for the location of the NDIS driver: A:\NDIS2\DOS Click OK. 7. From the Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter screen, select SiS 900/7016 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter and click OK. The Network Setup screen now lists the adapter, along with the default protocol stacks: SiS 900/7016 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter IPX/SPX Compatible Transport with NetBIOS Microsoft NetBEUI 8. Follow the rest screen instructions to complete the installation. 9. When prompted, restart the computer. (3) IBM LAN Services v4.x installation instructions --------------------------------------------------- 1. Execute the installation program from the IBM DOS LAN SERVICES diskette. Type: >a:\install 2. From the Network card field, select "Network card not shown in list below...". 3. Specify the path for the corresponding oemsetup.inf file of the OEM driver intended for use. Then, press Enter. The program then displays the driver name. Ex. A:\NDIS2\DOS 4. Check that the driver configuration is correct or not. 5. Complete the installation, restart your system to use the DOS LAN Services. (4) Optional Parameters ----------------------- Adapter Number - This parameter specifies the adapter number used for notifications. MEDIATYPE - This parameter specifies the media type currently used. If MEDIATYPE does not specified, it will auto detect the media type. Parameters List: AUTO -- Auto-select media type. UTP -- 10BaseT half duplex mode. UTPFULL -- 10BaseT full duplex mode. FAST -- 100BaseT half duplex mode. FASTFULL -- 100BaseT full duplex mode.
