W940ND.SYS Winbond Electronics Corporation Description: 1. W940ND.SYS is a NDIS 3.x driver for both Windows 95 Final Release Platform. If there is only one 940 card, the driver will automatically get IOBASE and IRQ from PCI Configuration Space. If there is more than oen 940 card, user can indicate a specified 940 card by inputing IDs. If user does not input an ID to select a specified 940 card, this driver will automatically select a free 940 card to load. 2. W940ND.INF is a Network Setup Information File for Windows 95 Platforms. 3. In Win95 OSR2 environment (version 4.00.950.B), the vendor ID and the device ID in PCI configuration space of the 940 card need to be the same as the W940ND.INF file described. for example : below line in W940ND.INF %w89c940.DeviceDesc%=w89c940.ndi, PCI\VEN_1050&DEV_0940 describes that the vendor ID = 0x1050 and device ID = 0x0940. Installation: 1. Plug Winbond W89C940 card into one of the PCI slots of your PC. 2. Turn power on then boot from Windows 95. 3.
