Before you installing driver program, please refer to DE-620 or DE-621 manual to get more detail installation. A simple installation is as the following figure. You can simply run the IPXDE620 on a workstation to access the Novell network: >IPXDE620 --Supports NetWare Lite, 2.1x, 2.2 or NetWare 386 >NETx --This program is provided by Novell *********************** * WORKSTATION SETUP * *********************** If you want to generate your own workstation driver instead of using the provided IPXDE620.COM, please do the following: 1) If you make a backup of this diskette, make sure that it is labeled as LAN_DRV_DLK. You can use the DOS "Label" command as follows: >Label A:LAN_DRV_DLK 2) Copy the appropriate NetWare driver files to the root directory of this diskette (or backup): >Copy A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\V215C\*.* A:\ --For NetWare 386 workstation 3) Execute Novell's SHGEN or WSGEN program, which resides in the SHGEN-1 or WSGEN diskette. When you are asked to select a network driver, press the INS key. You will be asked to insert a LAN_DRV_??? diskette. Insert this diskette (or backup) in drive A. Upon completion, a new IPX.COM file will be created in your SHGEN-2 or WSGEN diskette. ************************ * NETWARE LITE USERS * ************************ 1) Follow the normal installation procedures as instructed by NetWare Lite. When asked to select a network driver, simply choose "NOVELL NE2000". 2) After installation completed, modify the STARTNET.BAT file as follows: From: --------------------------- LSL NE2000 IPXODI A CLIENT To: --------------------------- LSL DE620ODI IPXODI A CLIENT 3) Copy \NETWARE\CLIENT\ODI.DOS\NET.CFG file to NWLITE sub-directory which was created when you installed NetWare Lite. 4) You may run STARTNET to access the Novell network. ************************************ * Install NetWare V2.2 workstation * ************************************ Refer to procedure A. HOW TO SETUP IPX and follow all procedures except for #3. Instead of running the program SHGEN.EXE, run WSGEN.EXE . ********************** * ODI DRIVER SETUP * ********************** ODI Workstation for DOS ======================= D-Link ODI Driver program allows you to run multiple protocl stacks. It also allows you to install up to two network adapters in a workstation. D-Link ODI driver supports "port, node address, protocol and frame" options. You can use these options to create your own NET.CFG file. For detailed info on Keywords, please refer to Novell manual "NetWare ODI shell for DOS - NET.CFG options". 1) Copy the DE620ODI.COM file (from this diskette) to the directory which contains Novell's LSL.COM, IPXODI.COM and NETx.COM files. 2) Follow Novell's instructions on using the ODI programs. You can substitute the DE620ODI.COM whenever a reference is made to the Hardware Specific Module. 3) A typical startup for ODI workstation is as follows: >LSL --Link Support Layer Module provided by Novell >DE620ODI --Hardware Specific Module provided by D-Link >IPXODI --IPX Protocol Stack Module provided by Novell >NETx --DOS Support Module provided by Novell >LOGIN ODI Workstation for OS/2 ======================== 1) You must first install the Requester on the workstation. For detailed information, refer to Novell manual "NetWare Requester for OS/2". 2) Copy DE620ODI.SYS (from this diskette) to your C:\NETWARE directory. Afterwards, add the following device driver statement to your CONFIG.SYS file: DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\DE620ODI.SYS 3) D-Link ODI driver supports "port, node address, protocol and frame" options. You can use these options to create your own NET.CFG file. Insert this diskette (or backup) which contains DE620ODI.COM, DRIVERS.DOS and DE620ODI.INS in drive A. 4) Follow the NetWare Client Install normal installation procedures, Which resides in the WSDOS_1 diskette. When asked to select a network driver, simply choose "D-Link DE-620 PEMCIA Ethernet Card" for selecting parameter like as Base I/O Port, Media Frame Type(s) and Optional Node Address. Upon completion, a new NET.CFG file will be created in your DOS directory.
