This document contains information on the following topics: 1.0 Overview 2.0 Installation Notes For Client 32 for Windows NT users 2.1 Windows NT 4.0 2.2 Windows NT 3.51 ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.0 Overview ------------ To install DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter in the Client 32 for Windows NT environment, you should have the Windows NT CD-ROM and the NOVELL Client 32 CD-ROM nearby. 2.0 Installation Notes For Client 32 for Windows NT users --------------------------------------------------------- 2.1 Windows NT 4.0 ------------------ 1. Plug DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter into the ISA bus slot. Then Start Windows NT 4.0 System. 2. Double-click on the "My Computer" icon. 3. In the "My Computer" window, double-click on the "Control Panel" icon. 4. In the "Control Panel" window, double-click on the "Network" icon. 5. In the "Network" window, click on the [Adapters]. Then click on the [Add] button. 6. In the "Select Network Adapter" window, click on the [Have Disk...] button. 7. In the "Insert Disk" window, specify the path for the DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter's driver. Example: A:\NETWARE\32BITLAN Then click on the [OK] button. 8. In the "Select OEM Option" window, select the "ODI D-Link DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter NetWare" item. Then click on the [OK] button. 9. After copying the necessary files, the screen will pop up "ODI D-Link DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter Configuration" window. 10. Specify the values, then click on the [OK] button. Interrupt Number : The "Interrupt Number" Combo Box let you select the Adapter Card Interrupt Number(IRQ). Pull down this box and select the correct Interrupt Number. If you are not sure, ignore it. The driver will search card automatically. I/O Base Address : The "I/O Base Address" Combo Box let you select the Adapter Card I/O Port Address. Pull down this box and select the correct I/O Port Address. If you are not sure , ignore it. The driver will search card automatically. Disable SearchCard: This keyword switchs the automatically searching card mode or not. The default value is "NotPresent" means that you would not decide your Adapter Card's "Interrupt Number" and "I/O Base Address" by yourself. If you select "Present", it means that you want to decide the Adapter Card I/O Port by yourself. In this situation, you must select the correct value in "Interrupt Number" and "I/O Base Address" Box. *Note* If your system environment is PnP BIOS machine and PnP enable Adapter Card, don't select "Present" in this option. In this situation, the PnP BIOS will assign the "Interrupt Number" and "I/O Base Address" automatically, and you may assign wrong values which PnP BIOS have assigned. Legacy ISA Card: This keyword specifies the Adapter Card types. The "Legacy ISA Card" means Non-PnP or PnP disable cards. If your adapter card is Non-PnP or PnP disable card, you need to select "Present" value. If your adapter card is PnP enable card, you need to select "NotPresent" value. Media Type: This keyword specifies the media type on the adapter. .AUTODETECT The first item is "AUTODETECT" means detecting the media type automatically. .AUI This keyword specifies that the AUI port on the adapter. .BNC This keyword specifies that the BNC port on the adapter. .UTP This keyword specifies that the UTP port on the adapter. 11. In the "DE22X#1 Bus Location" window. Specify the vaules, then click on the [OK] button. Type: If your DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter Card is PnP Card , select "PNP BIOS". If your card is Non-PnP Card or PnP disable , select "ISA". Number: If you know the Adapter Card bus number , select the correct value. 12. In the "Network" window, click on the [Close] button. 13. In the "Network Settings Change" window, click on the [Yes] button. 2.2 Windows NT 3.51 ------------------- 1. Plug DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter into the ISA bus slot. Then Start Windows NT 3.51 System. 2. Double-click on the "Main" icon. 3. In the "Main" window, double-click on the "Control Panel" icon. 4. In the "Control Panel" window, double-click on the "Network" icon. 5. In the "Network Settings" window, click on the [Add Adapter...] button. 6. In the "Select Network Adapter" window, click on the [Have Disk...] button. 7. In the "Add Network Adapter" window, select the " Requires disk from manufacturer" item. Then click on the [Continue] button. 7. In the "Insert Disk" window, specify the path for the DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter's driver. Example: A:\NETWARE\32BITLAN Then click on the [OK] button. 8. In the "Select OEM Option" window, select the "ODI D-Link DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter NetWare" item. Then click on the [OK] button. 9. After copying the necessary files, the screen will pop up "ODI D-Link DE-220 Family Ethernet Adapter Configuration" window. 10. Specify the values, then click on the [OK] button.
