Dear John, I want to begin by apologizing to you if I insulted you or hurt you feelings in any way. I am sorry I got a little carried away. I guess that I am a little frustrated that my GUS has not worked perfectly from the start. Again I am sorry if I sounded like I was making a personal attack on you. I do feeel strongly about the role of customer service and I am still concerned that some people are not getting the help they need. All in all though if I had to do it over again I would get a GUS. If just to here the awesome mods on SC2. I hope that work goes well and you get many more compliments than complaints. Sincerely Gunnar Swanson gunnar@gibbs.oit.unc.edu end. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 May 93 14:58:23 EDT From: pccmoddan@aol.com Subject: Bitch & Moan Message-ID: <9305071458.tn21766@aol.com> This is in reply to Gunnar "Mad as Hell" Swanson and the others that have been complaining over the last few days about John Smith not answering messages. Gravis has just re-located to a larger headquarters, and everyone there has been (and still is) quite busy. Furthermore, John is human, and unlike a god us humans can't do five thousand things at once. Please keep this in mind before posting ridiculously silly messages to the digest. You're a lot better off than people who have to deal with Creative Labs; they don't even speak much english. - Dan ------------------------------ Date: 8 May 1993 16:03:31 PST From: chrisw Subject: Chris.mid mistake: L & R wrong! Message-ID: <9305082309.AA09524@leland.Stanford.EDU> ------------ Bit of a problem. I just got myself a new 3.5mm to RCA adapter cord and along the way discovered that my L and R have been back to front. Anyway, thanks to the joys of the Cakewalk interpolate command I've moved them to the correct way around. I've put them all in chrismid.zip. i.e. chris1.mid, chris2.mid, chris4.mid, chrisnot.mid (and a bonus track (!) - a revamped air.mid). Also loaded up chrisnot.zip seperately just so that people didn't log in and find it wasn't there. Sorry about that ... For the record, the noise at the start of Chris4.mid should pan L to R, NOT R to L. I'm pretty sure I've got it right this time ... One other thing. I had some people write to me about not having ftp access and I sent them a copy of the first 4 mids (?I think? ). Could these people plus any others who are interested get back to me again so I can put them on my new `Gus chris music' mailing list? (Sorry, but my mail's been a bit hectic lately and I don't really want to go back looking through it all). When I post something on epas I'll also put out a uuencoded copy through Email. PLEASE only if you don't have ftp access though. Chris. Message-ID: <9305081659.AA04848@sdcc8.UCSD.EDU> Using SBOS 2.04, the digitized stuff comes out crystal clear and in synch. Can't say anything about the music, though. I'm playing it off my Roland. :-) It should be ok. Great game! Message-ID: <01GXXELQKTCI988KJA@ritvax.isc.rit.edu> Thinking about it , I think this might have already been asked, but I do not remember reading any answers. I was just wondering if anyone has tried the Covox Voice Blaster (voice recognition software) on our GUS? and if it works OK? (like with windows, ect) thanx in advance. dave ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 8 May 93 9:41:21 CDT From: Joe Cheng Subject: Internet Addresses and SBOS 2.06 Message-ID: <9305081441.AA11846@post.its.mcw.edu> Just wanted to respond to a question of game companies Internet addresses from before : Microprose - 76004.2223@CompuServe.Com Lucas Arts - 75300.454@Compuserve.Com By the way, I downloaded SBOS 2.06 from the Gravis BBS and installed it. It just seems to have the added feature of a config file for gamw switches to be used automatically. It is suppose to alter the volume of some background music, but I don't see the difference. And for me, it locks up my computer when I try to load it high. It looks like I'm re-installing version 2.04 today... -Joe- ------------------------------ End of Ultrasound Daily Digest V3 #39 ************************************* To post to tomorrow's digest: To (un)subscribe or get help: To contact a human (last resort): FTP sites: archive.epas.utoronto.ca pub/pc/ultrasound wuarchive.wustl.edu systems/msdos/ultrasound Hints: - Get the FAQ from the FTP sites or the request server. - Mail to for info about other GUS related mailing lists (UNIX, OS/2, GUS-MIDI, etc.)
