This new series will be featured during COMDEX/Fall in the Toshiba Booth #L862, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Nov. 13-17. "The new MK-2101M Series drives were engineered to lead the industry in capacity, performance and reliability," said Anne Stubenrauch, senior product manager, hard disk drives, TAIS DPD. "The MK-2101M Series drives are one of the few drives capable of storing and instantaneously accessing the large graphics, audio, video and MIDI files resident on today's high-end notebook, desktop PCs and disk arrays." To achieve the high capacity without sacrificing reliability, Toshiba combined its proven PRML (Partial Response Maximum Likelihood) predictive read- channel technology with high density heads and media. "This combination ensures high performance and high reliability," said Stubenrauch. The new MK-2101M Series drives offer several power-saving features that help system manufacturers deliver maximum battery life. Specifically, the new drives average only 1.4 watts of power and feature a fast five second spin-up time to optimize battery life. The MK-2101M Series drives round out Toshiba's product offering of 2.5- inch disk drives to give the company the widest breadth of product line.
