Now we have to wait with baited breath to see if it makes it into production staying true to its roots, or if it will end up looking like another Audi TT :roll:

I have to say my first impressions are very positive. It looks bloody good doesn't it? More like a '71 than a '70.

They would be mad not to built it. I would have one if I had that kind of money.

It would be an absolute blast to have that car as a daily driver. Revamped Mustang? Pah!!

I'll try and find out what the projected output is for the new Hemi.

Read the www.allpar.com article to see what they think the possible engine lineup may be, from some V-6s to the the Hemis, including the new race-only 392 Hemi (detuned for the street).
392 Hemi six speed with a pistol grip!! I need to sell my house!

I really hope they build that, it looks awesome. I, personally, much prefer it to the new Charger. Always have been more of a Challenger person anyway!

P.S. Just read that bit about the Hemi engine. Liking it even more now.

I hope they build it just like this and don't change it before production. I have to say, that makes the new Mustang look a bit lame and plastic in comparison. Fantastic!

The February issue of MPH magazine is supposed to have the new Challenger on the cover. The photo of the cover was on the net but DC has been asking everyone to pull it down for now.

The side by side head lights are a classic touch and it would appear that they've kept the line down the side, but what scares me is that modern day designers tend to box things up as safety becomes a bigger issue than appearance (ie the Charger). However, so far so good. Cautiously optimistic

The R/T-hood works for all times, it fits just as good today as it did 35 years ago! :mrgreen:

Funny thing that they have kept the looks of the rally mirrors. I didn´t think that they would do that! :s024:

They have really paid attenion to details. The car has NOT been ruined by too big changes, if you ask me.

I like the way the leading edge of the hood covers the top edge of the headlights. Looks mean like that.

I agree. My only complaint is that I think the rear looks is a bit dull. :oops:

Maybe it looks like that due to a bit blurred pic´s?

I see what you mean by the rear end. The plastic valence isn't in proportion to the rest of the car.

Sorry fellas but I think these photos are photo shopped.
First of all, the line above the headlights at the end of the hood is much thicker on the right hand side,(passenger), than the left hand side, (driver). Secondly, If you look closely you see that the driver side wheels and body are casting a shadow on the roadway indicating that the sun is in the 2 o'clock position, (12 o'clock being straight up). However the passenger side is not casting a shadow as it should with the sun in that positon relative to the car. Lastly, the rear speakers are reflecting in the rear window. I doubt you would be able to see that through a tinted windshield in the positon the "photographer" is supposedly in.
Please understand I am not trying to start a row here merely offering an oppinion. Also if Dodge does build this car I will be first in line at the local dealer the day they are taking orders. I missed the boat in 70-74 but NOT this time. Hang the cost! I only hope they offer Sublime Green to match my '72!!!

I checked the pictures and it seems that all the the reflections are the way they should be.
That's why you think the line above headlamps isn't right.
The passenger's side of the line isn't reflecting the sun directly.

Same deal about the speakers. It all depends on their angle. I don't see anything wrong about them either.

Reflections on the headlamps are correct and so on.

But yes, the shadow. It is a bit strange. But the whole left side of the picture seems a little overbrighted. A scanned image maybe?

I'm a believer. Besides, who doesn't want to belive it? :s023:

Hey guys. You obviously don't know the industry very well.

ALL official photos of cars are photoshopped.

A mate of mine does it for a living. In fact he does a lot of work for DC in the UK. Interiors in particular are heavily touched up. Normally you cannot tell unless you know what you are looking for. The fact that you can tell so easily in the Challenger photos is either because it has not been done very well or because the concept cars real interior looks quite rough (which is often the case with concepts) and needed a lot of work.

I wonder if the rallye instruments are optional? I have started to like the base assymetrical instrumentation myself, but I guess a lot of you would prefer the rallye setup.

The instruments are probably just photoshop items for now (they were pretty lousy in the first set of pics that was released, and I'm wondering where they intend to put the mirror controls), but they don't look that good (bright gray plastic in a black interior :s021:

The stereo looks horrible, but since it seems to be embedded with the AC controls, it won't be replaceable (by, say, a set of oil pressure and water temperature gauges, and maybe a WBO2 gauge too). But maybe the so-called 'Telemetry' screen on the left will provide useful and reliable informations?
The so-called 'pistol-grip' stick is downright horrible, too. But maybe that's just the pictures. Let's just hope the center armrest doesn't get in the way of shifting. The wheel looks OK, and the cruise controls don't look too intrusive. Maybe I'm making a wild guess here, but I'll wage that there's verry little storage space too...
