Lost trunk key

I have lost the key to my trunk. I am able to get to the trunk mechanism with the rear seat removed but don't know if i am suppose to turn it with a screw driver to the right or left or should I move it up or down. Also if that fails, what's the best way to remove that lock from the outside with minimal damage to the trunk. Thanks for any help, Calvin.

Usually the trunk opens with a quarter turn clockwise from the outside.
Try a quarter turn counter-clockwise from the inside.

That's exactly it Fabien, I lose my boot key regularly and often have to go thru the back seat.
In fact I done it so much last year that I hooked a bungee cord on to the lock lever and shoved the other end thru one of the floorpan bungs so I could pull it to open the bootlid

I took the luxury option and bought mid-70ish electric boot latches on eBay (probably from monacos or something like that). Haven't installed them yet though.
