72 door mirror installation

Postby Adrian Worman » 12 Mar 2012 17:02

I got a remote door mirror for my drivers door and went to fit it yesterday, but the position of the mounting holes on the door skin don't match the studs on the mirror :?
Are all door mirror mounting holes in the same place? I can't even be sure that the mirror is for an e body, I think it's from a 70 but not too sure.
Somebody posted an excellent list and pix of door mirrors a little while back, maybe Christer, can't get a big enough image on this phone tho, I'll have to research it when I get home

Don t recall offhand but aren't 70-71 mirrors different from 72-74?

3" between the holes all of the years 1970-1974. The difference is that 1970-71 used a short base versus the 72-74 long base.
