				side glass stainless

I've got the drip rail trim installed on both sides but I'm having trouble with the weatherstripping channel that goes on next.
Is there supposed to be a small notch in the top of the quarter panel at the back of the 1/4 windows? The stainless lip of the weatherstripping channel hits the quarter panel before it's out far enough to line up with the bottom screw hole. Also, the notch in the drip rail stainless is still visable...the weatherstripping channel doesn't cover it up.
It looks like there should be a notch in the top of the quarter panel so that the channel can go out farther. Can someone take a picture or two of the back of the 1/4 glass.....right where the drip rail trim meets the top of the quarter panel?
If there is supposed to be a notch in the 1/4, what would be the easiest fix...cutting a notch out of the weatherstripping channel instead of trying to mess with the 1/4? Thanks

I can get you some pics of my 70 or 72 Burdar if that would help? If you could further explain what pic you need. I dont understand what part(s) you are describing.

I can take a picture tonight....
The channel that screws on right after the drip rail trim....the piece that holds the roof rail weatherstripping. I can install all of the screw from the front of the car all the way to the back except the last one or two rear screws. The small stainless lip of that piece hits the inside of the quarter panel right where the roof meets the quarter...in at the 1/4 glass. I need to pull that chanel out farther in order to get the last one or two screws installed. Also, that piece also needs to be pulled out farther to cover the notch in the drip rail stainless.
I'll take a picture of what I have and post it in an hour or two. Once that piece is installed I can install the weatherstripping and the side glass.

				Yep, that's it...
There is supposed to be a notch out of the top of the quarter right there that mine doesn't have. It looks like that channel goes down into the 1/4 window opening farther on mine too. It could just be the angle I guess. Thanks for that picture!!!
Sooooooooooo...now what?

Adrian...are your quarters origonal or have they been replaced. I finally got the drivers side channel on but it was a PITA. I looked closer at the quarter panel and it does have and indentation in that spot but it's not nearly as pronounced as the one in the pic.
I was able to twist the channel as I was tightening it down and it almost covers the drip rail notch. It basically looks like Adrians pic now. I really appreciate those pics.

Can you take one more picture for me Adrian?
There is a small clip that holds the door glass against the weatherstripping. The clip is located right at the top of the A-pillar. Can I get a picture of how the roof rail weatherstripping and that clip share the same space?

The clip should be right at the bend where the A-pillar meets the roof. The clip is rubber dipped I think and holds the door glass tight against the weatherstripping. Somehow, the weatherstripping need to go in that channel right where that clip is.

Nope, mine has nothing there, just the weatherstripping stainless moulding. If this clip holds the door glass against the weatherstrip, how does the door close with the glass in the up or closed position?
I can't take a good pic cos the garage lights wash out the camera, but I can have a go in the daylight at the weekend if you want to wait?

Well, I finally was able to get back on here. The wife and I spent the night in the hospital with our 2 year old. Anyway...here is a picture of the clip. It is pretty springy. I dipped it in Plast-Dip...I'm pretty sure that's how it was origonally finished. The origonal coating peeled right off in one piece. It was hard like paint but I think it used to be rubbery.
I can see a rust stain from this clip on the origonal weatherstripping but didn't know how to accually get the new stuff up in there. I'll figure it out.

Thanks, I'm going to go out and work on it right now. Somehow, that clip and the weatherstripping need to occupy the same space....
I wonder if your car is missing that clip or if they didn't use it in all years?

I don't remember seeing it when I pulled the stainless trim off but that was 20 years ago

I got the roof rail weatherstripping on. I just kind of tucked it in behind those clips. The origonal weatherstripping still snapped right into place in the C channel. The repro ones didn't fit well at all. I had to use some 3M adhesive to hold it in place.
I also installed the 1/4 windows. They aren't in very good shape but I don't have the money for new glass. It's too bad because the rest of the car is going to look really good I think. The drivers side is the worst. Maybe I can find a decent used one for that side?

Maybe you can polish the glass, there is a link on here somewhere to explain how to use a polishing compound and a mop to get the glass clear again, I'm sure of it

The glass is clear. That's not the problem. There are scratches and chips you can feel with your fingure nail. Polishing won't take those out.
