That 'Shiv' front grill makes a nice resting spot for that Dodge 1/4!!
JUST Kidding Dave!
Looks like your making good progress Pat! Just think how nice it's gonna be when it gets done!!
I wish I had his Lincoln welder! I gotta borrow a Miller Welder from my Bud

I was only going to have him patch what had to be replaced. The rust was in all the wrong places though, bodylines, so new pieces from AMD, were needed. The good news is, it really isn't all that bad. Upper quarters are in great shape and wheel houses don't need complete replacement either. Trunk extensions only had some surface rust.

Hey Patrick,
Are you replacing the entire rear quarter on the drivers side, or just "patching" in below the body line? Mine has patch panels welded in, and it is very difficult to get it to look right. Curious to see how your guy does it.
Thanks,
- rich

He's replacing right there, where you see it cut. He's been doing bodywork for the last 40 years or so. I trust him.
I'll post more photo's as the work progresses.

Great opportunity to check out the window cranks from the inside. All was working fine but, now I know. Good time to give a little lube as well.

Looks like once you get away from the exposed edges of the sheet metal, everything alse is in darn good shape.
Once the new metal is on I would get as much rust protection product down in those areas that were effected as possble. Then no-one will ever have to worry about that rust coming back again.

Yes Drew, I have a Pro doing this. I wouldn't trust myself on this. Dave, I'm going to use a Rhyno type lining, on all the the hidden places. If I ever sell this car, which I won't, The new owner will have a piece of mind in these photo's.
Can't wait to get her back on the road again! Could be another month, though.

As Dave said not bad except for the edges. Maybe add some additional drainage in front by the rocker panel. Thats where the leaves and debris get by gap on the Q window felts.

And another one. Front cowl looks very good!
After all this, I really can say the car is rust free!

Previous owner plugged up the factory drain hole in trunk extensions.
Probabley thinking to keep the water out. All he did was, keep the water in. Since I have excluded the factory drain holes. I will provide the old girl with some custom 1/4 inch ones. Rhino lined!
I'm hoping not to deal with this, again.
