Rear window trim fixings

Postby Adrian Worman » 11 May 2011 13:20

Can some one have a look at the location of the clips that attach the lower 2 pieces of stainlesss window trim to the deck filler panel. I had a guy make a new panel for me but he did'nt weld new studs on so I have some screw on stylee clips to use, just wanna make sure I get 'em in the right place
I had always thought that some earlier cars used screw on clips for the front screen, is that true for the rear as well?

Yes my 1970 had screw on clips all round the rear and top and sides at the front.

I wouldn't worry about the exact location as long as they are spaced evenly.

It was the height or depth at which I drill the holes for the screws I was trying to get spot on, so that the trim sits at the same level as the pieces down either side. From memory and from looking at the fronts and the remaining rear ones its about half way :?: was just gonna put 2 on either side.

Does the trim clip not butt up against the side?

Or have you got another type?

There were two or three changes made to the clips from year to year I think.

Are you talking about the vinyl top trim?

No Barry, the 2 stainless trim peices that go at the bottom of the rear screen.
