Paint mask/respirator

Can anyone answer this for me...
Today I sprayed one of my rear quarters with a 2 pack high build primer/filler. It is great stuff for taking out the small imperfections in the metal work and where I mig welded in the new quarter skin.
Typical me I used it first then later wondered if the respirator I had on was up to the job. The respirator is a good quality silicon rubber with an expensive filter and pre filter that the bloke in the safety shop said I needed for spray painting.
When I later looked online I found conflicting advice. Some saying NEVER spray 2 pack with out a positive pressure full face mask and ventilated painting booth and others saying a good half faced respirator (like mine) was ok.
Does anyone know just how bad these 2 pack paints are? What are the minimum safety requirements.
Thanks
Dan
