I wounder if someone has some pics of how the window trim clips and the alignment clips are mounted.

I also wounder how many clips there should be for the front windshield?
and how many clips for the rear window?

I wounder if it should be alignment clips both for the front windshield and the rear windows and how are the mounted?

I think there may be more than one clip. Check this page from Jims Auto Parts, it shows loads of clips and descriptions, unfortunately does'nt seem to show quantitys http://www.jimsautoparts.com/molding_clips.htm
Actually, I reckon the 70 clips are screw in and 71-74 are slid over a little welded on stud. I think I got a bag of those screw in ones in the garage, ordered from Year One by mistake I'll take a look at the weekend, If I find them and you want them, I'll post them to you

Yes I have found the clips set but I wounder how many and where they should be located ánd if it should be alignment clips both for the front and rear windows.

I also wounder how deep the front and rear window should be mounted?

On a '70 you should be able to see exactly where the clips go as they were screwed in place.

You will get the correct number of clips (and screws) in most kits.

Places like Year One sell rolls of sealant that make fixing the glass in easy as it is of the correct thickness. It comes with rubber blocks that you simply sit on the bottom edge of the opening for the glass to rest on. So you only need to center the glass side-to side.

The last time i did this I tried the glass in place first without the seal and used masking tape and a marker pen to make alignment marks around teh opening and on the glass. That way it was easier to sit the glass down in exactly the right place when the seal was on.

I will see if i took any photos that show the clips.

Only the rear window has clips along the bottom edge. These photos are not very clear but they may help.

Thanks for your answer today my clips arrived so I saw that it was 12 clips for the front windshield and 18 clips and 2 alignment clips for the rear window.

But I wounder where to place the two black alignments clips for the rear window?

I also have read that it should be 2 rubber alignment for the front windshield 1"*3/8"*1/4" but where should they be placed?

I am going to leave my car to the glassmaster who will glue the glass on the car with a 2-K Puretane glue I wounder how thick should the glue string be so that the windows trim will fit exactly to the glass?

I have done this twice and never bothered with the alignment bits. I always use the rubber blocks which can be placed anywhere along the bottom edge and do not rust.

If you look at the kits Year One sell you will see they sell two different thicknesses. The thinner of the two is the standard thickness. If you look it up it states how thick the bead is. You can then tell your glass man how thick you need.

That is the thickness.

I have used that one and the thicker one. They both work so thickness is not that critical. It was easier to get the trim on with the thinner one though.

And 5/16" is the thickness of the tape not the wide of tape.

5/16 is almost 8mm so then I could tell my Glass man how thick the bed of glue should be.

I also think I will use rubber block to align the window I think it is better and easier to use them for the alignment.
