I got a request for more info and pics. So here goes...
I had a wild idea back in 2005. I had a parts car that had to go. So as I was removing anything and everything I thought would be nice to keep, I got an idea.

I had been looking at a trailer made from a pickup truck parked at the welding shop. And when looking at this parts car without doors or much else for that matter. I seen it!!! In my mind I could picture the car cut off just like the truck bed. So the first thing I did was a photo-chop of what I had in mind.

More to come...

Now that I study the pics, I notice the extension in front of the door opening...nice !!

This trailer is relatively short......how does it "feel" when towing at speeds above 60 mph ?

What tire dimmension ?
I was warned against using wide tires,...which would lead to "self stearing" if the roads are worn down....

My trailer rides like a "dream" over 60mph. It is like just an extension of the car. Very stable and smooth. In fact when you get up to speed on the highway it smooths out. I have had the combo over 90, but don't tell anyone.

I left the 7 1/4 open rear and all the rear suspension alone. It even has the shocks still there. Tires are the same size I am running on the car 215/70/14's all around.

More pics to come... Hope that helps explain a little.

Color and upholstery.

The only things left to do are install the rear trim, and I need to add the spare tire mount (goes where the gas tank use to be).

It has a wireless camera now for my limited rear view.

Drew, I have been following the build of that other trailer. Love it!!! Thats kinda why I'm here. The cuda chall board is where I hang most. The only other e-body trailer I know of was made from a 71 Cuda. It was made shortly after mine. So johannes' trailer makes the second trailer that I know of made from a Challenger.

The first time I took this trailer to a show. It made the pages of Mopar Action.

Hmmmm.... May I suggest you make a trike ??? :wink2: :s017:
Now THATS something for the books....
....make it a "convertible trike".....meaning you can CONVERT it from just a trailer into a trike.... :s022:... A MOPARCYCLE....

If time was not an issue, I would use the steel ends shown which I saved from the dummy, and put it on some other car...... :s006: :s006:

I believe I saw a station wagon that had been customized in a similar manner....somewhere on the web...

Now that is quite an idea. A little too much for me though. I like what I have, it is so very different.

From what I have seen searching the web, the idea of making trailers from cars is more popular in other parts of the world. Not so much so here in the USA. So I really get that shock factor when people see mine.

I still have more ideas and options for mine. I kept the option open for an electronic over hydraulic "active" braking system. I have to keep a safe distance away now, as this combo doesn't stop like the newer cars on the road.
Something like this...
http://www.easternmarine.com/Electric-H ... Actuators/
Or this...
http://www.etrailer.com/Brake-Controlle ... ampaign=pn

Both are kind of high $$$. Any other recomendations are welcome.

Maybe add a sound system, or even some kind of video, barbique grill, still these are just ideas.

Hmmm.
I suggest foot rests, and table.
The sound system should be in the car,......only a remote is needed.
