Tabs in the trunk

Postby redgum78 » 31 Jul 2010 8:05

I have fabricated a new piece to replace a rusted section on the rear inner fender (inside the trunk). Just wondering what the small tabs with about a 3/8 hole in them are used for? I re-made the tabs but havn't put the hole in it yet.

Thanks

Most likely it was used on the line for some reason. Maybe the trunk floor and wheel wells were installed as a unit already welded together. They could have craned that sub section over to the rest of the body.

Just a guess.

I thought on one side they used the hole/tab for the spring to hold the jack in place,i think :?:

Nope...there are separate brackets for the jack(two on the trunk drop-off and one on the outer wheelwell)
