Driver side inner fender

Postby NCChallenger » 31 Mar 2010 16:56

Would someone be kind enough to shoot me a photo of the area shown in the attachment or at least describe if the area near the arrow looks different on their car? :D
This is on a 70 model on the driver's side where the inner fender meets the firewall. I know the metal has separated from the inner fender (was there before I had the car), but it looks like this edge should be straight and not bent outward.

Yes that bit should be straight and not bent. It should be a simple oval hole.

Tricky to get a photo with the wheel on but this should do.

There is a cover that clips over these openings. Hence the small holes all around the outside edges and on the chassis rail. I have left the covers off for air circulation around the headers.

Thanks. Another item to fix on the list that never ends.

Quite often the bottom edge of that bit is not welded to the chassis leg. Often just on one side. Make sure it is welded on all sides.

Bloody lazy production line workers eh?
