trunk ducktail spoiler

hi can anyone help i have a rear trunk ducktail spoiler for my 72 ,it has no fixings i will have to fabricate them,can anyone let me know if (1) the spoiler should be tight down on to the trunklid or spaced a bit. (2) the position to the trunk lid edge ,and (3) the amount and type of fixings used .this is a fiberclass replica i have and has no fixings i will glass these in. any photos would be most welcome thanks guys :hmmm:

I'm sure DaveR can help you there - he has one on his '70 beauty. Does look like it sits off the duco a bit.

To be honest I just looked at lots of photos of Challenger T/As and positioned mine so it looks the same.

The spoiler sits flat against the trunk lid. You will need to cut holes on the underside of the lid for the bolts.

My spoiler came with studs attatched. I marked their positions and drilled through after laying masking tape on the area on the trunk lid first. Then cut the holes open on the underside.

The stock holes were rectangular. I only had a round cutter.

thanks for the help guys should be able to sort it out now,have been on the resto for about 3 years just a few things to finish

That car looks superb -! everything fits in perfectly. Just the right amounts of black and green, love the stripes too. I like how you have blacked out between the lights and frontal area - mine is the same too. Great job ! What donk you running in it? (engine)
