The Dodge Challenger Message Board

I have cut my factory full rear quarter off and noticed that the replacement goodmark quarter does not have a reinforcement piece in the inside section of the rear back window? This is a piece of metal that has a allen head bolt that is spot welded to the factory quarter that runs just below the window fuzzy.What is the function of this piece? Does it have to be removed and spot welded to the new Quarter?
