Front Turn Signal Lights

For the front lights that go in the valance, are there any aftermarket lenses offered anywhere that are clear? I always thought that clear or smoked lenses would look REALLY good on a challenger, and then just have a colored bulb.

I have seen a Challenger with clear lenses somewhere. Can't think where though.

It is the same unit as the 1970 Charger.

One problem you might find is that amber bulbs tend to have one pin offset to the side so they need a different lamp socket.

I saw clear lenses for the 1970 charger advertised, and they looked very similar to the challenger ones. Are you sure they are the same? If so, then I have found my clear lenses.

This would be great to get clear lenses. After painting my lens housings silver and mounting them up, they looked so great I thought it was a shame to cover them with amber lenses!

70 Charger and 70-74 Challenger are indeed, the same. Year One has them and, I've seen them on ebay as well. :wink:

Now I am confused, because they have 70 charger lenses and the picture is clear, but the description says they are amber-tinted. (This is off the yearone site.) Then they have 70 GTX/Roadrunner lenses with a picture and description showing them clear. GTX/Roadrunner lenses should be the same as charger, right? They are all B-body.....

I am calling Yearone after I get off of work to see what the deal is.

To be safe, make sure you specify that yours is a Challenger. Holy smokes! I just looked at my yearone book. Page 411. You get the amber one's for,$66.00 buck's for the set.

The clear ones are,$116.00 buck's a piece. :s007:

After looking at that price tag, I really like my amber one's. :s012:

PG Classic catalog has amber lenses (#2214-A) $59/pair and clear (#2214-C) $145/pair.

A friend of mine used special LED inserts, to get white P-ligth, but amber indicator ligths.... when using the clear lenses...

This combination is LEGAL in Norway......where amber P-ligth is ILLIGAL....

Up to recent time...it was "common" to install P-ligth in the headlamp-reflector..(the sealed beam must go), to acheive the clear P-ligth, amber indicator ligth combo....

Ohh well just so it's mentioned....

Thanks for the tips. I am not sure if my wallet will allow clear lenses right now, but I think they would look pretty sharp.

i don't mind the amber really. Dave mentioned the amber bulbs have offset pins, i got caught out as well. but Narva have released a new line of standard bayonet amber bulbs now, Be careful of PG Classic, its mostly overpriced Chinese junk. Made in china, shipped from china. the Ebay store front says Canada, but thats just the front store name. i bought a few things from them. very average quality, variations from original and poor fit.

A lot of PG Classic stuff is very good. Compared to other reproduction companies they are well above average in quality.

Agreed that some of their stuff is pretty cheaply made. But usually these are the items that no one else is making at all. And as time goes on their quality is slowly improving.

Half of the stuff offered by places like Year One is actually PG Classics stock. Only Year One will charge you twice as much of course.
