All the other stripes were Matt decals.

You could get the white stripe on a white car because the two whites were slightly different.

If you look at the correct white used on Challengers it is more of a cream colour.
But the white they used for the stripe was "whiter" if you know what I mean.
Actually you can see what I mean when you look at this photo of a EW1/V9W Challenger.
As far as I know the two blacks were the same though so if you have any photos of the black/black combo I would love to see them.
If the two blacks are indeed the same then I cannot believe that anyone working for Chrysler would be stupid enough to mask the car and then paint over with the same color.
So either the tag is a mistake (should have been stripe delete) OR the two blacks are slightly different (in which case I would love to see them!).

what was the black the aar,t/a hoods painted , the mask on the hoods was that satin , or flat?dave-r wrote:KISSAlien wrote:That's actually my car you've posted.
I was trying to find it on here but couldn't remember who had posted it!
Well anything and everything is possible with Chrysler and you can never say never when it comes to options. All we can do is generalise because there are always exceptions to the rules.
I do know Chrysler had several Whites in its paint pallet. For example in 1971 you could have W1 (White) or W3 (Bright White) on a Dodge.
Chrysler tended to do matt black as decals even on large areas which would have been easier to do as paint.
Did they use satin black in any part of their cars? It would be odd to keep a satin black just for the one person that might want a black bee stripe on a black car.
I like the effect though. I think it looks cool.
yea its is kinda rough , but new paint compounds have changes , your stripes look sweet!, the aar cars i have seen the new paint and i like it alot for a kinda satinmatflat if you willKISSAlien wrote:The AAR and T/A hoods were Organasol. Which is flat, but very rough.
Dave, I am pretty sure you could call the black paint used for the headlight surrounds satin black. But, I'm not a paint guy.
