today i took my chally out for some fresh air.i opened the trunk and was looking around.

wanted to ask, what purpose does that hook/bracket serve attached to the passenger wheel well inside the trunk just under the gas cap area?seems as though something goes there or not?

i know the other side has the jack assembly.

Can you take a photo of it?

Maybe the vent tube goes there?

took a look in the old threads and it seems it is a support bracket for the california emmision cars or ecs venting.i guess dodge put that bracket for all the 1970 challengers just in case it had the emmisions pipe?

here is a photo i found that shows the emmision pipe sitting on the bracket in the plum crazy trunk.

am i right with my guess?

cool just found a photo of the same set up as mine-see the non ecs vent with the panther pink coloured trunk.

Checked my 70 convertible today and mine does not have that feature.

My '72 has the california emissions vent assy. and does not have that bracket/bumper piece. Maybe only on some 70's cars?

My 70 doesn't have it either.
