GV module, hide it,..or let it show.....

I would appreciate your opinion on where to position the rather nice looking module for the GearVendor's "Auto Shift Sequencer".

Please vote for the best position...thanks.

Alternative locations are welcome....

If you ask me, i would not mount it so visible, because that would not be so good looking i think. I would try to hide it, maybe under the dash/ torped inside or in the trunk, under the shelf for the speakers pherhaps(?) if possible.
Are you liking that box and feeling you want to show it, then you should do that, but underneith the console is not that good looking if you ask me. Is it possible to have it under the hood, on the torped? beside the voltage regulators, ignition box etc..? How would that look?
Or a bit less visible, under the dash at the torped, at a suitable hight?

Are you driving with a overdrive transmission johannes, or is this something you can use withouth that?

I think that is the auto sequencer that Carl in NZ had a heap load of trouble with.
Imagined or real I don't know because I have not heard of anyone else having problems and I am not sure if it was just because he had higher expectations of it than it could deliver.

I will be very interested to hear how you find it when you get it working.

I just leave mine in manual mode and use it as a 4th gear. Much simpler and safer.

Anyway. I would mount it under the dash. I have my normal type controler mounted to my air con box just above the front of the trans tunnel. I routed the cables from it to the OD unit under the carpet and though the rubber grommit that the shift lever runs through.

This clever little device is expected to down-shift the Overdrive automatically.
Ex. You drive in 2'nd, and MANUALLY press a button to have the OD upshift,.... so you drive in 2'nd+OD.
You then use the slapstick to get you to 3'rd,.....and this is when the magic is expected to occur,...as the trans upshifts,...the AutoShiftSequencer gets input RPM and Gear-position....and downshifts the OD,.....in the same instant as the tranny upshifts.
...it is supposed to reduce wear on the tranny as well...Hmm...
If it works as expected,...I will get a 6 speed from my 727 + OD.
My engine bay is pretty packed,....and the little box is FAR from water tigth....so that is not a good place to put it....

..Dave,...I spoke to the GV representative,..and he assured me they have gotten rid of all problems.....I'll let you know when the snow is gone..
