The Dodge Challenger Message Board

Hi, I wonder if someone can tell me if the 71 Challenger had two torsion rods for the trunk lid like the 70 because mine only has one. And I bought some new sliders for it but I need some kind of picture to show how to get it to work properly. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

yes they did- my Deputy- dec 1/1970 has only one. not 100% sure but by march 71 they went back to two- mostly because the service techs couldn't get the trunk lid to stay flat- they twisted one way and then on the right side could be up by as much as 1/2 ".

did away with my one and put two strut units on mine!!!!

Thanks alot. I'm happy I dont have to find the other bar but I hope that doesn't happen to mine.
