Headliner: remove old and install new

Postby 1rallye » 28 Jan 2008 20:16

Any tips on replacing my headliner? The new one doesnt have instructions. I have not done this before, so any help would be appreciated.

i havent done the challenger headliner yet but i did the old valiant & the challenger looks easier getting the bows to stop flipping over was hard but the chally bows have a better system also the little teeth around the window openings & on those plates at the botttom of the c pillar i found once i got it in with all the bows upright it was just a steady job working my way forward glueing it as i went i think being patient is the most important think also the contact adhesive i used allowed me a bit of time so i could move it slightly if i needed to once i got to the front window i then went from the rear bow to the back window it turned out ok not perfect but it was my first attempt so im resonably happy with it

heres a pic of how it turned out dave if your going to use your old headliner it should be easier as long as you dont tear or stretch it when removing mine came off my challenger very easily & is sitting on a shelf waiting till i get the body work finished i left the bows in it so i wont get confused
cheers ian

Thanks Ian,

I will take my time and be patient. What type of adheasive did you use, and did you just use it around the edges only? This is a 74 Challenger.
