70 Challenger emblem

The fender emblem has the 3 pegs with nuts, but it has the 2 short pegs too. Do these short pegs go in holes or do they tilt the emblem on the fender?

It sounds like you have got a grille emblem. Is the part number visible? (or if you can post a pic of the emblem?)

1970 grille emblems have three long studs and two additional short ones that locate it on the grid of the 1970 grille and make it stand off the plane of the grille. The script Challenger emblems for the fenders have just three studs and the emblem sits flush on the fender's surface.

I just replaced my grill emblem and of course Pat, Christer,Jack T. are correct! My studs were gnarled and rounded off. Comes from over rubbing your studs
