Oops, I did not notice that the strikers you found is priced for a pair. That makes them cheaper than the one I found. My mistake.

Yeah Christer for the pair, but keep in mind the shipping. It would probably be much cheaper to have them mailed. BTW, whatever you use keep in mind a "fabbed piece" will only work if it's very stiff not spongy, I've been through this too, with another vehicle, I tried silicone, cutting barstock and fabbing it in, plastic sleeves, metal bushings ect.. all failed in short time. I finally found a set for sale and bought two pairs now I have a replacement which I'll probably never have to use but glad to have. The door not shutting properly can cause other problems in time. Thanks Eddie! I am sure that I will work something out. (I like to discuss things before I spend my hard earned $$$ to prevent me from doing something stupid.)

Btw; I am quite sure that the root to this problem is worn door hinges. I remember that specially the right door used to hung quite bad. A long time ago I did repair the door hinges.

That could be it Chris. My door hinges were well shot before I replaced them.

It is not very strange that the door hinges gets worn considering the very long and very heavy doors on the Challengers. It is more or less a two persons job to lift a complete door. :ashamed:

No similarities with an MG or a Lotus Super Seven there..... :s023:

Guess what? I have learned something new today!
The appearence of the NOS door strikers seems to change from one week to another :!:

I will send the seller a mail and ask him about what is going on. I´ll keep you updated.

This is what the seller answered:
chrysler used make them like the 1st picture then changed them to no washer and a brass spacer which is why we had to take them down and relist them!!!! sorry forany confusion!

How it ended? (I always want to know how it ends myself....)

I bought a used set of strikers for $15 + shipping. One of the rubber bushings were junk but the other one was in useable condition so I guess I should be pleased with the buy. I added some grease on them to keep them from sticking and to keep them "wet".

Cut to fit rubber in the same length and thickness and looks like it would be 'new' again. The rubber is on the inside of the metal sleeve correct? So just cut a piece of rubber in the same dimensions. :thumbsup:

Thanks Eddie! Yes, I am sure that something like that would work out just fine. I have decided to settle with what I got for the moment.
