Repro front fender replacement

Postby sheetster » 03 Jun 2007 17:48

Thought I would welcome myself back to the BOARD with a question. I purchased a 74 Challenger 2 years ago and I am finally fully commited to do a "driver quality restoration" but a really good one. I am however at a crossroad. My fenders are salvagable but have worn thin from the undercoating coming off and the usual rot on the lower portion. I have always heard that you cannot beat an original body panel. However in the May 2007 Mopar Collector's Guide magazine they are raving about these new fenders from the company Sherman & Associates for 1972-1974 Challengers. My question is (sorry for dragging this out) has anyone had an upclose and personal experience with these fenders, and if so, are they as good or better than Goodmark's?? Oh, and it's good to be back. Thought I'd share some pics. Hope they show up.

Sherman's products have always been inferior in quality in the past so I would be surprised if they were better than Goodmark’s which are made with new tooling.

But hopefully there will be someone here that has seen one or the other.

I noticed on ebay, front fenders made with Chrysler tooling and part numbers on them. $595 U.S. each. I will forward a link if I can find it.

Here's the link if you are interested. Maybe it is a goodmark fender. I don't have any other info other than this.

Do Goodmark make them for 72-74 Challengers?

It is my understanding that Goodmark makes fenders for Year-one. I know you can get 72 - 74 fenders from either company.
