please does anybody have the correct location/measurements to place the Challenger and r/t emblems on the fenders??

inchs ft from door gap????
and distance up and down from fender line???

Gary I dont have the physical measurements as you will need those to get an exact "blueprint" If however, you need photos of the end result let me know. Happy to oblige.

Or you can just stick them on any old how just like the factory did. There are examples where they have been placed well away from where the drawings show. Did you think the workers on the line would actually measure?

If I were you i would put them where you think they look right.

I,M JUST FINISHING UP A CUSTOMERS 440-6 PLUM CRAZY CHALLENGER AND THE FT FENDERS WHERE REPLACED AT ONE TIME....SO THE CUSTOMER GOT THE ORIGINAL PIN TYPE EMBLEMS WHICH WHERE CORRECT FOR THE 70 CHALLENGERS....SO THATS WHY I NEED EXACT MEASUREMENTS..............OR REAL CLOSE....TO DRILL THE HOLES....

Probably easier to look at as many photos as you can find.

I will tell you what I do know.

Placing the "Challenger" name is the most critical. It goes above the body line where the sheet metal is flat enough to take it. The R/T badge is centered under that an equal distance from the line.

How far from the door edge I don't know.

My fenders used to have the holes in but some bodymen don't seem to see the point of them?

Actually. Now I think about it. My Emblems were always stuck on the fenders.

This is why you see so many variations. So don't drill the fenders! They were NOT drilled.

Original replacement fenders were not drilled, but original assembly line fenders were.

Who filled in my holes?

I would say it is not centered on that engineers diagram. Yet I have never seen one that was not (at least roughly) centered.

I have photos of original cars during magazine tests. They are the same as below (actually one is from a magazine test). These may help?

I have also seen two original photos of cars in magazines with the R/T badges placed wrong. I used to have them somewhere but cannot find them now.

So if they were all drilled for the badges how did that happen?

Plus did this mean that non-R/T 340 package cars in 1970 come with R/T fenders?
Many (inc all 340 convertibles) got R/T badges even though they were not R/Ts.

They were drilled for the Challenger script emblem, not for the R/T emblem, as all the cars got the script emblem. None of the JH cars that I can think of got the R/T in either form, letters in the stripe or as an emblem on a stripe delete or bumblebee stripe car.

Right then. My fenders are in storage but I managed to get to one to measure it.

This is the passenger side fender.

The first hole from the left edge (door jam) is 126mm in and 52mm up from the crest of the body line.

The second hole is 45mm above the body line. But best to place that one by measuring the peg distance on the emblem and looking to see how straight it looks.
