Beware of this company!

There was a website I listed a couple months ago on this message board as a source for fiberglass parts for Challengers. The site was www.up22.com. I ordered a pair of front fenders and a trunk lid from them and I am warning everyone to NOT buy anything from this company. I had quite the runaround with them and just contacted the Better Business Bureau in California regarding them. I was told that they are not even listed as a business there!

The parts I recieved were of poor quality and rough. I ordered the trunk lid with inserts for the original hinges, but when I got it, there were no inserts in it, and when I called their company about it, they said that was the way the trunk came! After spending an extra 30 dollars for the trunk lid with inserts, I was a little upset. Both the trunk lid and fenders were put in cardboard boxes with no packaging, and bounced around for several hundred miles before being delivered to me. The trunk lid was missing a big chunk off of one corner because of this, but luckily the fenders survived with only a few scratches. The trunk also had a huge depression on one side that required quite a bit of bondo to fix. The lip on the fenders to attach it to the top lip around the engine compartment is bent inwards, so when you rest it flat on the engine compartment lip, the bottom of the fender is a foot and a half away from the car. The fender lip was also poorly trimmed, and left me only enough of a flange to bolt it in two places on the top. For weeks I tried to get in contact with the managers at the company, but never got farther than a secretary who always told me that the manager was unavailable and would call me back. When I finally got in touch with the manager, he said he would gladly fix the trunk lid and fenders, providing I paid the several hundred dollars shipping to get it back to him. This after he shipped me an unfinished part! I tried also to talk to someone on the floor in manufacturing, to see if maybe the fender lip was made at an angle to preload the fender and prevent sag. I was told that nobody in manufacturing spoke english! Talk about a sketchy business! The secretary eventually became offended at my frequent calls and "rude tone" as I firmly requested to speak to a manager, and began simply hanging up on me.

I am still attempting to use the fenders and trunk lid, as it appears I'm stuck with them, and the deadline date for finishing the car is in 2 weeks. I figured I'd let you all know what happened with this company. Poor service and bad products 600 dollars in isn't an experience I want anyone else going through.

Cheers mate, I very nearly used these guys when I had a Chevy Nova awhile back and was after a fiberglass hood for it (instead of that I changed the Nova in for a Challenger!)

With the shipping to England being well over $1000 on top of the part itself (I know this as I just bought an R/T steel hood from YearOne) I would have been well stuffed if I'd ended up with some sub-standard part.. I still kept the web address on my menu but it's gone now. Thanks for letting us know of your experiences :P

Sorry to hear about your experience. I find it about a 1 in 3 chance you will get what is expected nowadays. :x At least the parts are there to work with. Hope you can make em right.

Thanks for posting. Hopefully someone else does not have to go through the same frustration. :s017:
