Hello,
How does the boot that covers the convertible mechanism when it is down attach or fit to car?

Hello Neb. There is a bar that screws to the back of the back seat. This holds the front of the boot. Then there are 3 snaps on either side of the seat that the boot snaps onto the interior quarter panels. Then on the rear edge of the boot there are a series of c shaped clips that snap over the stainless trim that wraps from one side of the car to the other side at the rear of the top well.

I hope this is helpful

You are welcome Neb. I hope that the info was what you were looking for. Are you currently restoring a convertible?

Well, sort of. Got the car real cheap as last owner hacked the top off because of extensive rust and his kids using top of car for trampoline. He said top was just all mashed up. So...off goes the top. So, since I will only drive it on the street as a "fun" car, and not drive in winter, rain or snow, I figure I will go for the drop top look.
Re-enforced with sub-frame connectors. Going to go with torque boxes. As long as I'm on the subject...any more ideas for re-enforcing car so it does not pretzel? Thanks!!

Neb, There is a place in Indiana that specialize in converting hardtops to convertibles. Possibly they could be of assistance.
