Thank you very much for that.
Maybe you also have a diagram of the hood black out

I did have. Can't remember where though. It might have been in a old Year One catalog?
I just lent my catalog to a friend so i can't check. It is not in the factory manual that I can see.

I don´t need it immediately, so when you find it please post it.
I will start my restoration this winter.
Thanks

Visit
http://catalog.google.com/ . They have scanned Year One (and others) catalogs online. Seems that they're having some problems right now so try checking bit later.

To be honest. It does not look difficult to get the hood decal in the right place. I don't think you would need to do much more than center it?
I assume you get instruction with the decal too?

I don´t know if I get instruction with the decals. I didn´t order it till now.
But at the moment I am looking for all informations I need to restore my car, so I don´t have to bother about that when I need to finish the car.

Dave - I am having the stripe on my R/T painted again and I am trying to get to see a survivor Challenger R/T with the original V9 stripe still intact for research purposes. Everybody gets so intent on the sides of the stripe being correct that they really do not cover what it does as it crosses the deck lid. Does it parallel the shape of the back edge of the deck lid or does it go straight across the back of the car like a shadow line or is it somewhere in between? The various numbers on the factory drawing are interesting, but what are they? Millimeters? dimensions usually indicate what they are counting, but these do not. Help me get this right if you can, please.

My guess Jack is that because these were masked and painted on the stripe would be dead straight across the trunk lid. They would just pull a tape straight across and lay it down. At least that is what I would do if I was doing it 9-5.
I will see if I can find out more about the actual measurements used.

128.44, 128.68, 128.90, 129.10, 128.85, 134.00, 130 and 128.40 are all measurements describing the distance from a reference point somewhere in the front of the car, such as the front axle. I guess that the unit is inches.
Number 10 and 20 rounded by a circle (on the bootlid) are distances (in inches) from the centre of car.
Number 10 rounded by a circle on the view to the left of the car, is a height distance (in inches) from a reference point.
All manufacturers have different coordinate systems so it is quite impossible to say where it is placed in this case (or any case).
That means that the reference point is unknown to us.

Well my theory is out of the window if my stripe is anything like the original.
The main part of my stripe (from the back edge of the trunk lid to the edge of the thin orange stripe) which was painted by a body shop and not the factory is 5" thick at each end and something over 5 and 1/8th in the middle. Looking along its length you can see a "V" shape to the stripe as it follows the shape of the rear edge of the trunk lid. But obviously it does not quite follow it exactly otherwise it would be 5" from the back edge all the way along.

Christer....... the dimensions given are of some use, as they set a taper. The difference between them tells us the angle over 10 inch increments both ways from the center of the car. We do have a solid reference point at the forward edge of the recess for the rear bumper and a dimensional value for it, so the rest can be figured out from there. Your reply to my question may have put me on the right track - thanks!!!

Any chance that you can tell me how I might be able to get a better resolution copy of these drawings? I can't get the blueprints to print legibly on my end. Any help is appreciated.
