I am not sure of the answer. If you got the strobe stripes you would expect the fender scoops wouldn't you?
We need expert advice on this one!

If you get an answer let us know. Is there any other exterior trim codes on the tag?

By the sounds of it, it was ordered as an option.....if the factory had them, you could order it.

here is the tag
N23 N41 N42 R11 V7X EN2
GB5 C C56 J54 M21 M42
GB5 B6X9 000 517 C06058
E55 D21 JH23 H2B 431242
it currently has no fender scoops but was painted a few times so they could have been taken off.

I should take my own advice and do a search for similar questions already here on the board!

I have a 72 JH23H NON- RALLYE with the V7X accent stripe code & have asked the same question & no one has proven what it actually looks like! From what I can find in the '72 challenger facts & feature manual , the V5X is the full-length body side molding with vinyl insert , the tape stripes body side are the strobe stripes - code V6X , & the stipe pictured in the manual is described as "paint stripes - body side"& are standard on the jh non-rallye base challengers (unless ordered "stripe delete") . That stripe is full length , narrow & runs along the body line NOT wide & ABOVE the body line. Anyone with ANY proof that this is incorrect , PLEASE letme know! My car is also a C code Canadian car & possibly the painted stripes were different ???

OK, time for me to pay attention, I guess. From 1972 through 1974, V5_ is the code for the protective side molding with the vinyl insert. The third letter would indicate the vinyl color, B is blue (73), F is green (73), L is parchment (73), X is black (72, 73 & 74) and Y is gold (73). V6_ is the longitudinal tape sport stripe code, V7_ is a painted longitudinal stripe

the fender tag on my '72 has V7W code.
The only stripe on the car looks like this. It runs the full length of the car. It is pinstriping, not paint.

I think it is an original pinstripe. We have had a pic of another car here earlier, but I can´t find it now.
Take a look at the red car in the following link:

It has similar stripes but they doesn´t go the full length of the car. My theory is that they changed the design after the brochure was printed.

Here is an ad of a ´71 Challenger with two thin stripes (looks like pinstripes). I have always thought these thin stripes was a ´72-´74 thing but this ´71 ad excludes that theory.
Here are two shots of TomC:s car. It also has these rare stripes.
